Just the hotel: rooms and halls feel tired and in desperate need of updating.
But they were clean and the beds were comfortable enough - nothing special but
not bad. The common areas (not casino) are where you see lots of issues with
cleanliness, and I didn't see that at other resorts. Broken bottles laying
around for hours, homeless sleeping in benches outside.
What really ticked me off was the addition of $16/night "resort fee". We booked
through online site (Hotels or Expedia - and will take it up with them) and paid
the price listed, but at check-in they added the fee and couldn't adequately
explain what the fee covered. IMHO, it is absolutely unconscionable to up charge
guest for facility amenities. Either a) include the price in the room rate and
raise the room rates or b) use a "pay to play" model and charge for using
Internet, pool or gym. Sneak attacking your guest with charges at check-in (when
they're already here and can't go anywhere else), puts you in the leagues with
the airlines and politicians. Only thing worse would have been to charge it at
check-out Definitely not putting an "hospitality" in the industry.

Recently stayed at the Excalibur in Tower 2. We had a widescreen room on the
23rd Floor overlooking the MGM Grand and New York-New York. The rooms are very
comfortable and are cleaned daily. Loads of choices of places to eat in the
hotel along with the links to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. We stayed during CES week
and the food venues were pretty busy in the morning. Would definitely stay there
again if the price is right due to the location. The only annoying part was
having to say no every 5 minutes to people offering you 'Free Show Tickets'.

The room is clean in tower 2 but we never thought that we'll have a bad
Christmas experience here. I should have read the review on burglary before
booking this hotel. We lost 3 thousand worth of electronics

I took a group to the Excalibur. Rooms were great, Price was great but group
department needs a litte work. Our group was coming in at 1:30 and I called at
12:30 to make sure the rooms and keys were ready and they told me

We just spent 2 horrible days after choosing to spend "Christmas at Excalibur".
I had read bad reviews but still opted for a spa room over a regular room at
Paris or the Venetian thinking "how bad can it be?

Like many others I was here for Rock and Roll Half Marathon Checked in late and
they did not have adjoining rooms, no surprise Got "free" upgrade to big TV
room, probably because thats all they had left. Room was not clean and smoke
