As far as being customer service driven, for example, I was surprised upon check
in that we were being charged an extra $20 per night "Resort Fee." which was not
stated in the Bookit information. (Btw, that should be mentioned during the
booking process and I have contacted bookit.com to disclose this information.)
When we inquired about what the fee included, we were told that it includes
internet access in the rooms, use of the fitness center, pools and a shuttle to
the shopping mall. Gee, since when do you have to pay a extra "fee" for the
right to use the pool and fitness center? "Resort Fees" are just another
annoying industry trend to get more money out of guests. It wouldn't have
bothered me if the pool and hot tubs were open but due to the winter weather,
the pools and hot tubs were closed. The only indoor pool and hot tub would be in
the spa, which charges $25.00 to use unless you book a spa treatment.
I casually mentioned my disappointment to the front desk clerk and she
cheerfully upgraded our room! Since we got such an amazing deal I can't complain
but if I was paying full price, the "resort fee" would have rubbed me the wrong
way. But I applaud the service recovery initiative by the front desk clerk to
resolve conflict. It's not her policy and she wanted to make sure that we were
happy. And we were happy campers!

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the "old" towers. There was a
group of 6 of us, so we got two double bed rooms. The rooms were spacious. We
were on the 4th floor and a great view of the pool, but since we went in Jan.
the pool was closed. The bed was overly soft and had a top sheet and then a HUGE
duvet so you had the choice of sleeping with just a sheet or under a heavy, hot
duvet - so you could be hot or cold. One of the rooms was close to the elevator
and we could hear conversations in the hallways on a regular basis. The TV in
the room was large, but set so that if you were listening to the music channels
it could be pretty loud, but if you were watching TV, it was too soft to hear
plus the remote only worked from the center of the room and neither bed were in
the center so you had to reach way out to point at the center of the TV with the
remote. The location of this hotel isn't so great either. It is off the strip so
you have to drive everywhere - not close enough to walk to any other casinos,
etc. The bathrooms could use some updating and the entire room could use better
lighting. I don't understand why hotels put in overpriced mini bars either that
if you touch something you are charged for it - seems like and excuse to tick
off your customers. If I want a drink , ear phones, coffee, candy, I'll go buy
it downstairs at the overpriced shop in the lobby - that way I don't have to
"tip toe" around the mini bar on the dresser in fear that I might accidently
knock something over and be charged for it?!? As far as Vegas hotels, I wasn't
impressed.

When we first arrived in the room, there were wet spots all over the floor from
spilled beer. The rooms are very dark and poorly lit. There is no refrigerator
or coffee maker in the room. If you want anything, you have to purchase

We stayed here in November, so it was not very busy (ie Rehab was not going on).
The casino/ gaming aspect is not the major point of the hotel so if you are
going to Vegas to gamble this is not the hotel you want to go to.

My fiance and I just returned from Vegas after staying in a city-view King suite
at the HRH all-suite tower 12/1-5, and we can not say enough good things about
this place! The decor in the rooms sets the perfect

This was my first time in Vegas and it was not a pleasant experience.
Pros:
The room was nice, even if we constantly had to ask house keeping for toilet
paper
Pool was nice looking (complaints about it below)
Cons:
Location, location location.
The shuttle that runs from the Hard Rock to the Strip (to the Fashion Show Mall)
runs once an hour from like 9am to 5pm. It's an extended cab Escalade and seats
like 7 people. So if you aren't there an hour early, you are taking a cab. It
would be better to have a continuously running shuttle to Miracle Miles mall. In
6 days I took it once while trying to catch it a dozen times.
The food was decent but HORRIBLY over priced. I noticed when leaving that food
was cheaper in the airport than in the hotel.
Casino is small and very basic
Why am I getting carded to go to the pool?
Why am I being charged $75 to go to the pool on Sunday?
The bathrooms in HRH suites...have a glass door that takes up 90% of the wall,
I'm sure it's awesome for sexy times with your significant other but if you are
travelling with friends it seems kind of dumb. My suggestion? Regular door for
rooms with two beds. Glass door for rooms with one bed.
