I booked the Silverton because a band was playing there on Friday night and we
wanted to party afterwards. The entire experience was a pleasant surprise. The
Silverton is very nice. Good food, good bars, nice casino. It's low key and calm
compared to many places on the strip but very convenient to everything. In the
time it takes to walk to your car at the Bellagio you can walk to your car and
be nearly to the Bellagio from the Silverton. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Room was nice, large, and clean. Pool area was exceptionally nice. It is more of
a family place, Bass Pro shop on site. It has a really nice aquarium that was
unexpected. I will absolutely stay there again.

I stayed here with my wife the last week of August. Our room was on the first
floor was just around the corner from the pool which we loved. The room and
amenities seemed fairly new and were very comfortable. We had a view of the
pool. Since we stayed during the week the hotel and casino were fairly quiet.
The pool was so relaxing after the thumping music of the strip pools. Most of
the strip pools are designed for 20 something's with a cold beer in their hands
with trunks half off. This pool was so relaxing with a nice hot tub too. A
couple of nice girls (with major tattoos) to bring you drinks if you want. There
were only 4-6 people at the pool at any one time and soft rock music. All of the
10 or so cabanas were unoccupied, and the price was reasonable if you want one
for the day.
We love Silverton. We had been to their casino a few times before buy never
stayed there, and had a free room offer due to our play. I am happy we stayed
there. We ate at the cafe twice because the buffet line was very long with
locals. The breakfast and dinner we had were second to none. We paid with our
points, and the steak and shrimp special with dessert was only like $14.99. One
day while my wife shuttled her parents over to M Resort, I played all morning
and ate at Johnny Rockets and devoured a huge burger and chocolate malt--pure
heaven.
I did win at the casino, getting a $1,600 W-2 on Cave Man Keno and hitting many
smaller jackpots on four card Keno. Very nice atmosphere with continuous drink
service. My wife won big on a penny machine called "Tarzan." She bought me
shirts at the on site Bass Pro shop, which is very nice. I loved their big tanks
equipped with Mermaids also. Silverton is a feel good, no nonsense property.
Check in and out is a breeze, and they make you feel like a person and not a
number. I can't wait to get back there. In my 55 trips to Vegas I have moved
from mid-strip (Stardust & Westward Ho) to downtown to Orleans to all over the
strip, but now will go out to my wan to stay at Silverton & the M Resort in
Henderson, with Bellagio being my first stop. Yes we go on extended trips, but
if you localize your gambling the offers will be better than if you scatter
coins all over the city. I hope Silverton invites us back soon.

We did a road trip out west and this was by far the best room on the trip- the
price was amazing and the hotel had a beautiful swimming pool!

I have stayed here more than once - it is off the strip, but is close enough
that it's still easy to get to, and there isn't the clogging of foot traffic
that on-strip casinos often have. The pool has a lot of deck chairs and deck
space, though the pool is on the small side. I did not gamble, but there are a
lot of open slot machines and available seats at the tables - again, there isn't
a need to fight massive crowds. The hotel is a few years old, but still feels
new; even the casino doesn't have the lingering old-smoke smell that a lot of
casino-hotels have.

Everything was fine until we went to bed and found the window A/C was SO LOUD.
We asked for another room but were told all the rooms have this type A/C. Plus
it has no temperature setting, just a know to turn it up or down. So you turn it
up you are cold, down you are hot, somewhere in the middle and the machine kicks
on and off. Every time it turns on or off you get the LOUD noise from the
compressor. We moved the next morning went to Harrah's and took a nap. |
