A bunch of us stayed here for a week in early January while working a trade show
@ Mandalay Bay. Because CES show was in town, hotel rooms were at a premium,
especially Mandalay Bay, so we opted for the South Point because the rates were
extremely affordable compared to the hotels on The Strip.
WOW! What a great choice!! The place is really great in terms of pricing, size &
cleanliness of the rooms, restaurants/bars and parking. Several in our group had
vehicles so going back & forth to the show @ Mandalay wasn't a problem. If you
don't have a vehicle I'm guessing the taxi rides could be costly going to/from
The Strip.
The buffet, cafe and bars are a true value compared to the nearby Strip hotels.
Rooms are big, clean and a bargain, too. Front desk personnel even accommodated
us for early check-in @ 11:00 in the morning upon our arrival. That's rare in
Las Vegas, believe me and we really appreciated that.
We fully agree with a bunch of earlier reviews.....For some reason, the casino
area seems more smoke laden than other casinos in Las Vegas. I'm guessing that
they don't have a top rate ventilation system. But, once you get past that, the
rooms don't have the smoky atmosphere.
We'll certainly be back next year and we've contacted the trade show organizer
to see if they can move their show from Mandalay Bay down to the South Point.
May not be possible but nevertheless, we'll be back to South Point.

This hotel is really a great value! It was away from the hustle of the strip but
close enough to take the shuttle if you wanted to venture out.

customer service and room which was provided was good.
The casino was good. If we go to Las Vegas we will be staying here.

The only reason we stayed here one night is because our Air Tran flight from
Vegas to our hometown area was cancelled overnight. The airline put us up at
this dump. It is a rather new place, and nice size. Casino was okay, but not
that many good games. Heavy smoke. Different people for sure. Room was very
large and was clean. Bathroom was rather dark, shower in tub, etc. Had a view of
the pool area. The pool area was another matter. There was some kind of
cowboy/wrangler event in Vegas. The pool was small with a large CEMENT area
around it. Again, different people for sure. Men had their swim trunks on with
there freakin cowboy boots and hats. The girls, well, they looked pretty hard.
MANY people who were sneaking their own drinks/beers in to save $$. And, these
were NOT kids. Pool service was LONG....drink was not even cool by the time it
arrived.
We would never stay at a place like this. D-. I cannot recommend it you.

We have stayed at the South Point 2 times. Our last visit was for 4 nights. We
are frequent visitors to Las Vegas having stayed at several of the strip hotels
and also 3 different timeshares. We are pretty serious slot players so the
casino is very important for us.
The rooms at the South Point are quite large at 500 sq; ft. Though not as
luxurious as some of the strip hotels we have stayed at, the rooms are clean and
quite nice. I do recommend staying in a mid to upper floor room. The check-in
and check out was quick. We were comped for all our room and all food charges.
South Point's comping is quite generous. The restaurants are very good with a
wide variety to choose from.
South Point has a wide variety of slot machines and are definitely much looser
than any on the strip. We came out ahead after 4 days of serious playing.
It is located quite far south of the strip which is not a problem for us as we
have stayed many many times right on the strip. Our main interest is a good
gaming experience, good restaurants, good service, and nice accommodations. The
South Point meets all of those. They also have a nice swimming pool, movie
theater, bowling alley, etc.
If you don't need to be right on the strip then the South Point is a very good
choice. Make sure that you join the Player's Club. Is is free and you will get
some free play and a discount book.

We spent a few nights there in September. The hotel is away from the strip but
there is a shuttle bus in every hour which takes you there. The hotel is huge,
you can find lots of entertainment with a casino of course.

We have stayed at Southpoint and been there to see a show and stayed elsewhere.
It is a nice venue for the price. It is conveniently located and has the
standard amenities. They have a shuttle to the strip

We've stayed in Vegas many times, but this was the first time we selected a spot
away from the strip. We had extended family with us, and the opportunity to have
everything in one place was appealing. There was a little

This was a huge surprise. It's a massive hotel with movie theatres and an
equestrian center. Great for families, reunions & any occasion. I'm always ready
to pay big bucks for a great experience

A little far off the strip - but worth it. Great amenities, comfortable beds,
rooms are quiet, valet is quick and lots of restaurant choices. Hotel operated
free shuttle to/from airport and offered $8 shuttle to the strip all day long.

My fiancée' and I spent 4 days/nights at South Point in early November 2011 for
a relative's wedding. Had an absolute BLAST!! We had one of the basic rooms on
the 23rd floor which was clean and well appointed with a decent view of the
mountains.
