We stayed three nights at the Venetian in February for a wedding anniversary. At
first glance the property is impressive and suitably Las-Vegas-venetian. Check
in was painless, and our request for a king bed was corrected OK.
The room was generally large and well appointed (Venezia tower suite), with a
comfortable bed. It was let down slightly by some details (the mini-bar door
didn't close, one of the towel holders was broken, toilet door handle didn't
function properly.) If you plan on using the mini-bar we were advised that its
on a a scale, and removing an item will charge it, even if its not used. I'd
recommend visiting the close-by Walgreens instead. This is about 5 minutes walk
from the hotel, and is much, much cheaper in most cases.
We only ate once at the Venetian, which was good but not inexpensive. For those
interested, a standard room-service American breakfast for two came it at just
under $70 with mandatory fees and tips. The door hang tab does *not* include
prices - buyer beware!
The Casino was brightly lit and extremely busy while we were there. One has to
walk through the Casino to get to pretty much anywhere else in the hotel, and
the routing is very confusing, even after 3 nights we kept getting lost. Just
about every other casino we visited had a more intuitive layout.
My wife & I had planned a romantic gondola ride, but after checking it out
decided to save the $60 - the boats automatically seem to move around a course
with the gondolier listlessly moving a fake oar from time to time. The canal
itself seems like a substandard Disney setup. I had expected more. Compared to
say, New York, New York's depiction of Manhattan, the canal part seems poorly
executed.
In summary, we found the Venetian to be a luxurious hotel,. especially its
public areas, but ended up going elsewhere much of the time.

Venetian was another great experience after Paris hotel in Las Vegas. Bella
suite was as nice as Calais suite at Paris but the view was not even close to
Paris, mainly because the orientation of the Venetian is not really great for a
view of the strip. However, the Venetian has plenty of shopping and restaurants
and I like Andrew's ties and Zefferinos. You can enjoy the resort without even
going outside to see any others because you have so much to do. Still you can
cross the street for the show at Treasure Island and Mirage. The only annoying
thing is the many people trying to get you to go for a timeshare presentation.

The Venetian is in a great location...very centrally located (but towards the
nicer end of the strip) and the rooms are huge/comfortable. We slept great
there...rarely heard any doors open or close. Had a view overlooking the pools,
the volcano erupting at the Mirage, and the pirate show at TI. When we told the
concierge about two remote controls being broken, they were promptly fixed.
The casino itself is very confusing to get around...the Bellagio is much more
nicely laid out with clearly marked directions. (We'll try the Bellagio next
time.) Walking through the casino to get to your rooms also guarantees you'll
reek of smoke within minutes of your arrival and each day when you leave to go
see the sights.
Like everyone else, we feel a resort such as the Venetian should have coffee
makers in the rooms and, what's with the $20 a day resort fee?! We're paying
extra for amenities that should be...well...amenities!! I tried talking our way
out of it...since we weren't using the gym or the wi-fi, but no dice.
