Our trials with this hotel started at check-in. I tried to ask the desk clerk
about the possibility of a room upgrade to a suite and I was treated like I was
an inconvenience to the woman checking us in. Rather than earn a little more
money for her hotel she basically talked us into staying with the cheaper room
we had reserved.
The room we got on the ninth floor was nice, it had a good view of the downtown
area in the distance and the pool area below. The weird thing was that the
floors turned our feet and socks black! I'm not kidding, it was either very bad
carpet or VERY DIRTY carpet but either way it was really disgusting.
The room itself was fine, a lot of room, good amenities, a fridge and a little
bar area. Shower was great, bed was comfy. Floor to ceiling windows on one end
of the room was nice.
The casino was nice, a lot of low-denomination games and very friendly dealers
and pit bosses. It was a smokehouse though. If you are sensitive to smoke this
hotel is NOT for you.
The major complaint we have is because they closed most of the hotel for some
special group of Soccer fans while we were there and NO ONE told us this was
going to happen before we booked our reservation. Most of the restaurants were
closed the four days we were there, and they even closed the pool on us one day.
In my opinion you can't close an amenity that the whole hotel uses for one small
group of people. And the pool is the only kid-friendly amenity in the whole
place, and we had four kids with our two rooms - not good.
In the end, this is a nice physical hotel but a very customer-unfriendly
property as it is managed right now. I will not stay there again.
Room Tip: Ninth floor facing the pool was a good view.

Purpose: Leisure
Length of Stay: 4 Nights
Rate: $29.00/night
Overview: If you're the right person., staying at this hotel will be like
hitting the jackpot!
Pros:
-Everything in our room was brand-new and immaculate; seriously, I wouldn't mind
eating off of the floor.
-LOVED the huge flat-screen TV with high-definition programming and lots of
channels
-Room was extremely quiet
-The view of the mountains and Vegas skyline from the 12th floor was absolutely
beautiful to wake up to each morning
-The Deuce (city bus) stops right alongside the hotel and will take you to The
Strip
-So many on-premise restaurants and buffets to choose from
-Cheapest room rates in Vegas, and NO resort fees!
-Pool looked wonderful and well landscaped
Cons:
-Hoards of elderly people (I'm in my 20's and occasionally felt out-of-place)
-Takes around 30 minutes to get to The Strip
-More of a locals casino than a vacation resort.
This hotel is perfect if:
-You're 40+ and don't enjoy the hustle and bustle of The Strip
-You're on an extremely tight budget
-You're staying for 3+ nights
-You have a car

Do not attend concerts at this hotel; very, very disappointed!!!! I booked a two
night stay because I purchased a ticket to see Brett Michaels in concert at this
hotel/casino. The concert was absolutely a rip-off. After Michaels' first song,
the Cannery's entire sound system went out; all we heard was muffled music from
the stage. Several of us actually went straight to the sound system tech and
complained about the situation just to be told by him that there was nothing
they could do about restoring the sound system!!...and they did not. Michaels'
cut his concert short playing for just over an hour... a $100.00 concert ticket
rip-off and scam, indeed.

We visit Las Vegas several times a year and usually stay in a Harrah's property,
as we did for the first five days of of visit this time. But, we decided to use
our free room comps at the Eastside Cannery for our last two nights. We were
pleasantly surprised, the room was beautiful and had great views. The room was
very quiet and the beds were super comfortable. The air conditioning unit was a
little loud, but I like white noise so it put me right to sleep .The tub/shower
was big and spacious. We enjoyed playing commission free pai gow in the casino.
The pool was a little inconvenient, you have to walk through the casino, and out
the door and use you your room key to unlock the gate to get in, but it was
decorated nicely and very peaceful. All of the service and staff at this
casino/hotel was very good, I would not hesitate to return and stay a whole week
the next time. It is about 6 miles down Ttropicana to the strip, but the deuce
bus stops here frequently.

Enjoyed the laid back atmosphere here-unlike the pulsating energy driven strip;
Nice place to just sit back & chill out; Enjoyed the horse race betting area,
there is a roped off area that contains a few "classic" slot machines that take
a quarter & spew quarters from below, to winners; don't think any other place in
Vegas has such machines. Sunday $7 buffet was great ! From breakfast items-eggs
Benedict (even omelets made to order) to catfish, pork loin, all kinds of
salads, veggies, & desserts; drinks were included in the price. Some parts of
the casino seemed smokier than others but other than that, had a perfect time
for the price. Very casual dress, did see many seniors there -especially
Sunday-probably locals who know a bargain..

First, rooms are beautiful so that is not where my rating is based, I'd give
them a 4 1/2 star for the room.
We arrived at the front desk on a Wed. at 1:30 p.m. No one in line and two
clerks There was a standoff on who had to help us. Eventually, we were called
over. The clerk was very nice, however she said there were no clean rooms. We
travel a lot and that's only happened to us once before but ok. She took my
credit card and ID and said to check our bags with the valet. We had to repack a
couple things so we hung around for a bit. That's when I saw the family come
behind us that wanted the same style room. With two little kids and the valet
waiting with their luggage, they got their room right away. Ok, so now we are
being sent to gamble which is what we figured but it was then confirmed.
Over to the valet, no one there. We waited for about 15 minutes, then went
inside to use the restrooms along with our three heavy bags. We went back out to
see that there was a valet "hiding" in the back of where they check luggage in
the room that is locked. Not sure if he was there all along but you can't see in
and they can see out.
Checked bags, cost $$ to tip of course, then went to do the gambling they wanted
us to do and also bought a couple drinks at the bar. After an hour, my husband
went to check in and the same nice lady told him I had to be with him even
though we were just there together and she had all my info. They paged me and
she took one glance and said ok.
Last complaint is with Snaps the restaurant. It was one of the worst meals I've
ever had and they didn't care. More review on Yelp regarding that.
