Came to Vegas and the Excalibur for the Rock and Roll Marathon because it was
close. First impression on the hotel was old and run down, not to mention very
smoky. Had an outside room that had a great view of the strip area. ..

I don't mind the hotel old. As long as it is clean and the bed is comfortable is
fine. However, Excalibur's bed, besides uncomfortable (very/too soft), the bed
is "dirty". There must be "something" at the bed

Overall, it was a good experience at this property. Bring your own 4-cup
coffeemaker from home if you are a coffee drinker. There are coffee shops on the
ground floor of each tower of rooms, and a center Starbucks operation. However,
the lines are very long in the morning, and you have to leave your room and walk
so far just for a $3 - $6 cup of morning Java; it can literally be an hour-long
ordeal. There is a Baja Fresh in the hotel, so you can get a quick light meal
and don't need to deal with overindulgent buffets or the crowds.
Check-in and out went smoothly and quickly. Room was exceptionally clean, and
when we needed extra items, housekeeping responded quickly. The beds are
heavenly!

This was our fifth visit to the Excalibur and it did not disappoint its like
coming home to an old friend.
It seemed busier than a year ago but check in and allocation to rooms went
smoothly, we had requested a king widescreen and that's what we got right at the
top of tower 11, pool view and some of the strip. The room was cleaned
immaculately every day and even though we did not ask we got clean linen towels,
and lots of toiletries. the beds are king and very comfortable, large 42" plasma
tv and i-pod docking if you require.
Having the internet connected was a bonus, i know you pay for this with the
resort fee but it is well worth it and you get a free newspaper daily.
We used the buffet most days and it did not disappoint the hostess we had from
the previous years remembered us as well, nothing was too much trouble for them,
endless drinks and food, always fresh and plentiful. You can use the Luxor as
well with your all day ticket.
We also used the food courts and they were also clean and very friendly and
efficient, the fresh ice cream one was fabulous for milkshakes, and the subs
were enormous Great holiday all round.

We stayed a couple of nights with kids and overall was a very good place to stay
in a town not set up for kids. We were given a room in tower II as it was near
pool which the kids loved. It has 4 pool areas including a water slide. There is
also a kids arcade which kept them entertained. We ate at the buffets on most
occasions as this was the easiest option for the kids. We were able to use our
daily buffet pass at either Excalibur or Luxor. Excalibur is close to the main
area of the strip and connects to other hotels locations by walkways etc. We
found the staff were friendly and helpful and had no problems at all. |
