The last time I stayed at this hotel I was in a Capri room, which was OK but a
bit of a walk from the entrance (see my previous review). This time we stayed in
a 'Deluxe room', which, to be honest was no better than a Capri room except

We travelled to Vegas for the last week in September. Originally we booked 7
nights at the Tropicana but then stumbled across a deal for the Imperial Palace
which included the buffet of buffet pass for a two night stay. We had decided
that we would buy the pass anyway and this deal meant that we would be booking 2
rooms for two nights for an extra $25 a very good deal we thought and this would
give us a chance to sample a mid strip location. We booked two rooms for two
nights in deluxe rooms (four of us travelling). We paid $112 per room for two
nights including a buffet pass for each of us. There was a no cancellation
policy attached to this deal.
We really loved staying at the Tropicana so as it got nearer the time to leave
we started to worry that the IP would be as bad as some previous reviews said
i.e noisy and dirty. We decided that we would only check out of one of our rooms
at the Trop so at least we had a plan B if necessary. This also meant that we
would not have to move all our luggage to the IP and could just take an
overnight bag - much easier on the duece.
Check-in at the IP took over an hour. The check-in seemed to be understaffed but
the lady who checked us in was helpful and professional so no complaints there.
Our rooms were big and clean. The beds were comfy and the shower powerful. We
had a problem with the air conditioning in our room on the first night - it was
a bit noisy so we turned it off - we still had a good nights sleep. When we
mentioned this to reception the next morning and they moved us to a love tub
room for our second night. Again this was spotlessly clean and more modern than
the deluxe room with a flat screen TV. I have to say though - I wasn't too sure
about it. There is a huge bath tub in the bedroom and mirrors above the tub and
the bed!!!! Maybe I just getting old. Ha..Ha.
Overall I was surprised how much I enjoyed our stay at the IP. The Buffet of
Buffet passes worked really well for us. We ate at Caesars Palace for lunch on
the first day, Paris for dinner, Harrahs for breakfast on second day (big
mistake - worst buffet we had all week) and Planet Hollywood (Spice Market) for
lunch on the second day. We enjoyed our meals at the other three and would not
hesitate to use them again.
We loved the location of the IP and felt that this more than made up for the
"tiredness" of the rooms. It is a very friendly and welcoming hotel so
absolutely no complaints. The casino was loud, lively and friendly and we really
enjoyed the dealertainers.
Would we stay again? Definitely - because of the location and very competitive
room rates.
In our opinion the Tropicana is definitely a better hotel and our sons did
return there for their last night, but in our experience the IP including the
buffet deal provided good value for money.
If you want high quality stay somewhere else.
If you want a comfortable room at a good price in a mid strip location, give it
serious consideration.

Tired with old furnishings but for a place to sleep, it was good value. Its
location is good but its still quite a distance if u walk from hotel to anywhere
else especially if u have shopping bags with u. |
