At the time of making the reservation, the Luxor is happy to take requests
(strip view, non-smoking, etc..). Well, at check in time, the story is very
different. It seems first come, first served is the motto. After requesting a
non-smoking room, I was told that because of my late arrival (9pm), they could
not accommodate my request and gave me a smoking optional room that smelled like
a wall of smoke as we opened the door. The front desk was not willing at all to
work with me the customer. Very disappointed... The old adage is right...you get
what you pay for.

I booked the Luxor expecting something nicer. We had a room in the pyramid and
the elevators were slow, the check in was slow and the rooms were just par. My
most recent trip we stayed somewhere else which had a way better location. Luxor
is too far south on the strip and we found it was pretty quite at night compared
to the mid strip section. Over all the stay was fine and we had lots of fun, but
from now on we will be staying in the center of the strip.

The room couldn't have been nicer: great beds, closet space, and spacious bath.
It was very clean and had a flat screen TV. We brought our iPads, but were
shocked to find that Wi-fi is not possible in the rooms, and only in the
Starbucks (although the staff told us otherwise) for $6.99 per day. There are
only a few computers available and it was very expensive to use them. So it is
unlikely we will return because of WiFi; we have stayed at small motels that
provide it and expected MORE in Vegas.

well im so pleased i ignored the bad reviews our room was lovely yes there may
have been a few minor decor issues but come on who goes to Vegas to stay in
there room and the people on here mention in and photographing the damp patches
etc clearly have nothing better to do
the pool was gorge even though we did only spend roughly 15 mins in it due to
the heat
the room was serviced daily nice clean towels
flatscreen tv, powerful shower
no problem check in in or out
it was quite a trek away from the other end of the strip (stratosphere) however
my partner walked there took him roughly 1hr half and got the monorail back

Stayed at the Luxor for 4 nights, arrived very early from a San Francisco flight
was told that check in wasn't till 11 but the nice man on reception let us check
in early which was great, there was a resort fee to pay but luckily if you book
with virgin this is all covered. The room was a long walk away as the hotel is
massive and we stayed in the tower. When we got to the room though it was very
nice with 2 large double beds, had a great walk in shower too. Only bad point
was the view but you can't have a view from each room! We went out to walk down
the strip, this hotel is right down 1 end of the strip so not the best location
this didn't bother us though. All the hotels on Vegas are massive and all though
we didn't have the biggest or poshest we definitely had a good 1 compared to a
few you get in the middle of the strip opposite caesars palace. Overall great
clean hotel!
