Staying around here puts you about 45 minutes from the Las Vegas strip by car,
so if you want that hustle and bustle, it's best to stay near the strip. If you
want peace and quiet, stay here. Activities here are rather limited to day
excursions, paddle-boat/kayak rentals and nearby trip to the Hoover Dam. If you
have kids that enjoy pool activities all day like my grandkids did, you'll be
fine here. If they've outgrown that, then go somewhere there's more action for
them. If you have no kids and want to relax by a quiet pool, have a choice of
good food at reasonable prices, go here. Keep in mind, that there are close-by,
a choice of two additional upscale hotels for your dining choices: The Revella
(originally built by Ritz Carlton), and very close to the MonteLago. Up the road
about a mile is the Loews.
All in all, a pleasant experience and I'd go back. Nothing negative about the
hotel at all -- just understand what you have here at the Lake, and what you
don't have. Knowing that, you may be very pleased with this resort and the area.

If you want to be 30 minutes from the Vegas strip or you enjoy a water view,
stay here. The rooms are huge--they are condo rentals--and clean. Unfortunately,
there are no real services in the hotel.
The Lake Las Vegas development was impacted in the economic downturn and real
estate crash. Many of the storefronts and shops are empty. The casino next door
was small and depressing with no live table games. I played the quarter slots
for 15 minutes and never hit more than a 50 cent win. Now those are some tight
slots. Most of the machines were penny slots. Ugh...
There were high winds one of the days we were there so the lake was closed. High
winds? We didn't feel a drop of air moving. Oh well. The pool was large and
seemed to be clean but we didn't use it. Others in our group who did said it was
nice.
Garage parking, while free and only self parking, is awkward with a very small
area under the building. Lanes are narrow and it was difficult to get into many
of the spaces. In addition, the garage was fairly dark and felt a little
uncomfortable in the evening.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite with a balcony. It was spacious enough to
really fit 6 people. There was a full kitchen and dining room and two bathrooms!
The little balcony had a nice view of the lake and pool.
We parked our car and walked the rest of the time that we were there at Lake Las
Vegas.
Room was spacious and really nice.
Pool was freezing - NOT heated!
The beds were decent - frankly we were so tired that we slept pretty good!
No room service or dining areas that I can remember but everything is just a
short walk away to shops and wonderful restaurants! It also comes equipped with
a full kitchen. Just pack the groceries before you get to Lake Las Vegas! There
were no general stores in the area.
Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room with a balcony.

Whatever you see on their website isn't true. Those pictures were taken years
ago. We even talked to the hotel/restaurant staff and they said it's been
through 4 management companies in the past 2 years. Restaurant staff was
quitting in front of us. We thought we were in the twilight zone! We went on
Memorial Day weekend and they were booked...or so they say...even though it
wasn't busy at all. Our bed broke just by sitting on the edge of it, when my
husband called the front desk, they LAUGHED! The manager said "We're sorry, but
we're booked so there is nothing we can do!" The restaurants were overpriced and
not good. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory was the best part, which was
located in the village! Plus, there wasn't valet or a bellhop - and for the
price we paid, there should've been more amenities! Also, the hot tub was closed
due to repairs...on Memorial Day weekend!! Ridiculous!

We just returned from a combination business/relaxation getaway at the Aston
Montelago Resort. I am a travel agent and was with a group of other agents who
were hosted by Aston ML. I have stayed at many condominium resorts throughout
the world and was extremely happy with Aston!
The Village is as charming as they come...a little Italian Villagio right in the
middle of the desert! We were there a week before the casino is scheduled to
re-open, so will be excited to see the resort/village alive with activity this
summer.
I was initially placed in the Viera Tower, but after a sight inspection, Paul
Schow and Larry Anderson (GM's) were so gracious to move us to the Luna Di Lusso
Tower, as the modern decor and studio views were much more to my liking. My
husband joined me and had two highly relaxing days by the pool.
Our studio unit was beautifully decorated and had tons of amenities. We left the
kids at home this trip, but both agreed that it would be a great getaway to
bring them on, next time.
Thank you Larry, Paul and all the staff at the Aston Montelago...We'll be back!
