This is my second stay in PH, five nights, Sunday to Thursday. I went with the
GF for five nights in late November. I was booked (comp) in their Hollywood hip
room; at check in asked if I could get a comped upgrade, was given the option of
taking a Hollywood hip with fountain view, or a resort Paris

We stayed here for 5 nights in the South tower on the 9th floor. We had a view
of the pool, although unfortunately we were never able to use it as it rained
during our stay. We had requested a king bed room but were given 2 queens. The
room was spacious and clean. Although we were close to the front of the hotel,
noise was never an issue at night. Music does start up in the morning around 9am
or so (I think it was coming from the pool area) but I didn't find it too loud
or disruptive. The only downside of the room was the shower. We had to fiddle
around with the handle to get a warm temperature, and the area around the shower
head could use a cleaning. We made use of the soaker tub, which was nice to
relax in after a long day of walking. We ordered takeout at Planet Dailies in
the casino (50% off an entree if you buy a $3 voucher at Tix4Tonight) and ate at
Earl of Sandwich, both of which were good. Overall, I would definitely come back
to Planet Hollywood; the location can't be beat and there are lots of shops
downstairs to check out.

The hotels in Las Vegas are amazing, the casinos are a world of their own but
it's seems that the Planet Hollywood Hotel spends their money on the things that
make them money such as the casino. Our room was in the part of the building
where it seems to "kink". Therefore our room wasn't the best shape and our beds
seemed to be going off in a different direction to everything else. Our view was
of the roof of the miracle mile shopping centre as we didn't pay the $50 extra a
night to look at the strip. The furniture in the room was broken and damaged and
the carpet stained. When I was running the bath, it was like a freight train was
on it's way. I walked down the corridor to get a drink and could hear the tap
running 10 rooms across! All in all, it's a nice hotel, they just need to spend
a bit more money on pleasing their guests other that the casino

Great hotel right in the middle of the strip. The rooms were beautiful and
clean, lots to see and do in the hotel.

Great location and easy access to a number of "name" hotels on both sides of the
Strip, The restaurants in the hotel and the Miracle Mile should satisfy most in
the event the weather or your mobility are an issue.
Checked in early. Bathroom is huge, shower stall is great 3'x3'.
The only downside was that the room (29005?) for which I paid extra for the
view, overlooked the construction that is in front of the south end of the
hotel. The view isn't that disturbed as you can see the south end of the strip,
if you are near the window. However, the first morning was a bit of the surprise
as you could hear the beeping of the construction equipment - given that it was
Sept it starts about 5/5:30AM. The sunshade and the heavy blackout blinds when
fully closed somewhat mitigated the noise for the following nights.
There is an extra charge for WIFi and a fridge, which is not an issue if you
don't need/want them. I didn't notice free WiFi on the Strip but that doesn't
mean it's not there and as I was on a "laptop-free" vacation I didn't care. |
