There is no doubt that this hotel looks really good - very cool lobby,
restaurants. The suites are well appointed and probably the most comfortable
couch I've ever met in a hotel room. Like many hotels, the way it looks doesn't
translate to the level of quality.
I was disappointed in the hotel for a couple of reasons:
1) The bathtub in my room was grimy as was the shower curtain liner - The liner
needs to be replaced for sure and the tub really needs to be bleached.
2) Construction outside of my room - I got in really late due to a flight delay
and really needed to sleep in to prepare for a presentation. I was unable to
sleep because of construction in the hallway outside my door - it sounded like
people were scratching on the wall or something - turned out to be painters /
scrapers - It was really disappointing that they would do this on the wall
outside of a room that was occupied with the do not disturb sign on.
3) When I opened the bottle of lotion that was provided as an amenity - it was
1/2 used ... a past guessed had already used it (I thought that was kind of
gross)
4) I ordered room service breakfast -- a box of special K cereal with a banana
($8.00 plus delivery etc.. about $12.00) - When it arrive ONE HOUR later - it
came a 2 cardboard boxes of All Bran cereal... In my opinion, if a hotel is
going to charge you $12.00 for the tiny cardboard box cereals.. and then make
you wait an HOUR to get it delivered, it should at least be the right cereal.
I'm actually checking out and going over to the Cosmopolitan down the street.

I have been staying at Thehotel every year for 10 years now. The staff is always
courteous and the hotel is a nice refuge from the madness of Vegas. The fact
that there is no smoky casino downstairs to hit your senses early in the morning
is a plus. The one issue we have had with them is housekeeping. As a whole i
would give it a C. For a hotel of that standard you would expect more

THEhotel was a good choice. Clean, modern, and nicely decorated. The room was
facing the streets and parking area. Quiet at night. In order to walk to the
shared pool at Mandala Bay, one has to walk about 5- 10 minutes. We only got one
towel per person. Bring your water bottle. They have water - but it does not
taste very great. Shade is a bit of a problem. Luckily, we manged to find a palm
tree that was providing some shade. The wave pool is strange.
Crowded by kids. Life guards make sure that everyone is behind the line before
the wave comes. As soon as it starts everyone runs towards the entrance in order
to body surf. What a joke. I say, let everyone just have fun on their own risk.
The lazy river was super crowded. Bring an inflatable ring - or you'll have to
buy one. One can rent cabanas and nicer chairs with umbrellas. No idea how much
they are.
Toilets were everywhere and clean.
Thehotel was not smelling like people that would smoke. I really appreciated
that.
We did manage to forget toothpaste and had to buy the travel kit ($15) that
included a shaver, a toothpaste, and more things that we really did not need.
Our problem, i guess.
Also, the hotel does not provide you with a water bottle. You need to bring them
or buy one. The fridge cannot be used for your own things.
The room that we had was huge. Two rooms, one office, coach, flat tv, and then
the bedroom with another tv, a safe (free to use), bathrobes, slippers, etc.
Just really nice rooms- clean smell, quiet. Great place.
Decoration of the hotel was wonderful. Fresh orchids everywhere. Just fantastic.
Nice , modern but simple style.
The hotel has access to the tram - which is free to use and brings you to the
Exalibur.
Later on our trip, we stayed in the Paris hotel in Vegas. Smelly and older.
THEhotel was clearly a much better choice. Would come back.

Arrived at 7 pm and HAD TO WAIT for a room - 7 am maybe but not 7 pm. This hotel
has the least impressive entrance that I have ever encountered - through the
carpark! Room was great - large and well equipped but we were in a V Suite on
the 6th floor with mountain view AND a great big air-conditioning plant across
the road that resulted in a constant hum in the room. Just drank more to get to
sleep.
Had 4th July dinner at Mix restaurant (top floor) and it was great - but you do
not have to stay at hotel to appreciate restaurant.
Room Tip: Try another hotel, I will be next time.

We stayed at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay for five nights. We had a wonderful time.
The hotel is beautiful and clean. All the rooms are suites so you have a powder
room and a living room with a flat screen t.v. The garden tub is lovely too. We
loved the fact that The Hotel doesn't have it's own casino so it is quiet. We
were able to use the pools at Mandalay Bay and they were beautiful as well. We
will definitely return to this hotel. |
