OK The MGM is a huge complex with excellent free (just the tip) valet parking.
Just a minute or two to get your rig. First thing you do notice after the sea of
people is the smell of smoke everywhere

Spent 6 nights at the MGM Grand with my boyfriend. We checked in late at night,
around 9pm and were given a room on the 7th floor although we requested a room
on a higher floor. Reception were very helpful and said to come back the
following morning to be moved to a higher room, we were then given a room on the
26th floor with a great view of Las Vegas! All staff were very helpful and
friendly. Fab location at the end of the strip, opposite Newyork hotel and close
to hooters. We loved the lazy river, and the alcoholic ice drinks were good too
although quite pricey...$16 for one small drink! Although, you can buy plastic
yard containers for $24 then the next top up is only $16 for any alcoholic
frozen drink. We can't wait to go back next year! Perfect place to stay in Las
Vegas!

I recently stayed at the MGM for five nights with friends. This was my third
trip to Vegas, having stayed at Planet Hollywood and New York New York on
previous occasions.
We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon and there weren't any queues. We were
allocated a room on the 26th floor, quite a way from the lifts despite the fact
that my friend was on crutches - not a great start as it was quite a walk and my
friend was exhausted by the time we got to the room!
The room was absolutely huge, with very comfortable beds. There were no problems
on the cleanliness front, although one day Housekeeping didn't turn up - not
sure why.
We loved the pool area at the MGM - there were so many pools to choose from and
plenty of sunbeds. Food and drinks were very expensive around the pool though.
We really enjoyed the casino and I was fairly lucky on the slots.
One major gripe I had with this hotel was their late checkout policy. Our flight
wasn't until 9pm on the day that we were due to check out, and we wanted to keep
the room on if possible. However, MGM runs a "first come, first served" late
check out allocation starting at 8am on the day of check out. So, although we
were hoping for a lie in, we had to set an alarm for 8am, get up and call
reception to request a late checkout. After all that, they only let us keep the
room for an extra hour, which wasn't worth the lost sleep. Surely they should
know the night before whether or not they can give you a late checkout? I never
had this problem at the other Vegas hotels I have stayed at.
In summary, the MGM Grand was the nicest hotel (rooms-wise) that I have stayed
in in Vegas so far, but I will try somewhere else next time. It was a bit too
big and I preferred the atmosphere at New York New York and Planet Hollywood.

To tell you the truth I expected more.
We came for 3 days and spent 2 hours of it checking in and out...
If you compare it to the other Vegas hotels I visited you might find a beter
burgin.
It is on the strip, not expensive & generally nice rooms.
The club was nice although it took us hours to get in although we were hotel
guests
Maybe the renovated part is better.
