The place was very quiet which we enjoyed though it would have been nice to have
had other children for our son to play with. The room was super clean (my pet
peeve) and staff cleaned and made the bed (super comfortable!) each day. We had
to ask for clean towels and the hotel didn't seem to have any washcloths. The
room internet connection dragged at times but overall was good. We arrived first
week of April and the HOA had decided not to heat the pool so it was too cold to
use so we all ended up in the Jacuzzi and small "warm" pool. Both were closed
one day and construction was on-going for a few days with construction workers
inside and out the building but at least they weren't too loud. The free shuttle
to the strip was ideal even though we had rented a car for day trips. We loved
having the kitchenette & grocery stores were nearby. We had a constant issue
with our room cards getting demagnetized which was frustrating and I agree with
the comments that the staff were young, inexperienced, not helpful and downright
rude at times. We were told they were only called in on a "need be" basis. They
did give us a small refund on resort fees due to the fact that pool couldn't be
used and we could have gone to a neighboring resort to use one there. We'd take
our chances and stay here again. The weather was ideal and overall we had a very
relaxing and enjoyable stayGuest Reviews Montelago Hotel Lake Las Vegas

We had a nice stay at this resort. However, the casino was closed so we had to
go elsewhere for gambling and movie theater. The room was very clean, bed
comfortable, it was quiet, and we enjoyed the fact that we had a kitchenette to
make our coffee and prepare meals or snacks. I didn't care for the dogs close by
our room, nor the fact that most of the shops and restaurants were closed. Staff
was limited and hardly seen. Service is the one restaurant we found open was
slow since there was just one waiter but, since we didn't utilize it but once,
we really didn't care although some would. The food was well prepared and very
good. Overall, since we don't care for crowds, we had a nice stay.

We arrived for a 7 nights stay in Viera at Montelago ready to buy an apartment
whilst there, but how disappointed we were. This was our 4th visit but nowhere
near a perfect as our previous visits. The management has changed and young,
unprofessional staff appear to have been left in charge. Unfortunately, the
apartment we had requested from our previous stays was no longer available ( I
had requested this on booking) and they struggled to find us another suitable
one - not that the place was anywhere near fully booked. We were told there was
no one from Housekeeping on duty to sort rooms out for us. We settled for an
apartment near our first choice if we moved on the second day. On the first
night we had to put up with barking dogs across the corridor. For the first 5
days we received no Housekeeping whatsoever - when I asked at reception they
said their had been a 'glitch' and they'd sort it the next day. As a gesture we
were sent some clean towels and they removed some of the refuse in the bins. The
next day they took the clean fluffy towels away! The Village itself was also
very different, empty shops, broken blinds, damaged buildings, shabby restaurant
chairs and obvious wear and tear everywhere. The Lake itself looked dirty and a
damaged stage with shabby blue cloth had been left out looking such an eyesore
for anyone wanting to dine at the lakes edge. The Ravelo hotel had opened in
place of the Ritz Carlton and the Casino was due to re open shortly but the
village still needed a full facelift to bring it back to life. We could have put
up with this but the management and staff didn't help at all. Such a shame. When
we checked out we weren't even asked if we had enjoyed our stay - there was such
a lack of customer service. We shall go back in the future out of curiosity -
Aston are not a patch on the previous management who were so professional and
went out of their way to make their guests welcome. We paid a hight rate for a
weeks stay and wished we had gone back to Green Valley Ranch that was far better
value - without the lake. Such a shame we decided not to invest in an apartment
here.

This is a gem. They have created a Italian village in a peaceful setting.
Excellent rooms, EXCELLENT and good selection of restaurants. If you want a big
casino experience it is down the road. This is not the strip. Thank GOD!! This
is the third time we have vacationed here - this time for 4 days - very relaxing
and close enough to the Vegas lights to do that if needed but like a trip to
Europe!

We had already paid for our family week long stay, but when we arrived, we were
told we had to pay an extra $240!! This is a beautiful place to stay right on
Lake Las Vegas, very quite and we had a great time. But I really wouldn't
recommend it because of the extra fees! The rooms are owned individually so the
hotel does not offer service comparable to when it has one owner, such as a
Marriott Resort.

I stayed at this resort with my two children for two nights to see some area
attractions before heading to the Grand Canyon. Didn't want to take the kids on
the strip, so I thought I would try this location. Great location for visiting
the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Red Rock Canyon. We obviously stayed during their
off season as the place was a ghost town! Most of the shops and restaurants were
closed.
We stayed in a Viera Room, which was a two bedroom suite with balcony views of
the two pools and the lake and a full size kitchen. Had two bathrooms, a TV in
each room and the living room. We saved some money and ate in for a couple of
meals. You need to go about 5 miles to get to the nearest grocery store, so if
your heading from Las Vegas Airport, stop before checking into the hotel.
Would like to try the location during a warmer season, as it would be great
place if more stores and restaurants were open. Desk clerk said Spring and New
Years Eve are great times to visit. Loved the gated parking structure and the
large tub in the master bedroom.

Before I left I looked at a review that said ghost town. I should have listened.
Don't get me wrong we weren't looking for the crazy club seen this trip, it just
would have like we weren't in a scary hotel movie. There is no one there! Our
room was far away from the shops the place is empty and we asked for a better
room. We were
told we had a view of the lake on a high floor. Our "view" was if we crammed
ourselves to the far left of of balcony we could see a bit of the lake. The
overall view was ugly! The rooms were nice sized but decorated very plain with
very cheep furniture . The sink in the bathroom reminded me of an airplane sink.
The walls are painted all white! The Internet makes things look so good. Beware
this place feels really strange. Glad we are leaving to one of our favorites on
the strip tomorrow!!

Casino closed. Most stores closed. Fountains not in service. Lake looked
disgusting. Restaurant awnings flapping in the breeze. Bed as hard as the floor.
Nothing close by for dining options.
