The Orleans is off the strip but has a courtesy bus which runs every 15 mins or
so. The rooms are spacious and clean and the hotel has many restaurants. The
breakfast buffet is great, sets you up for the day and the Prime rib loft is
fantastic.\All in all its a great base to enjoy all the delights of Vegas at a
very reasonable price.

I stayed two nights at the Orleans and before my trip I read the reviews on this
site. Just about all were very good with one or two giving the hotel bad marks.
Check-in was great. Eddie checked me and was super nice and accommodating. I
requested a Strip view and it cost about $5 extra. I didn't care. The room is a
nice size. Yeah there was a stain on the carpet but I wasn't planning on eating
off the floor, I was okay with it. The shuttle to the Strip was great. I could
have walked but it was 105 degrees and opted to be take a ride. There were a lot
of teens there because of a basketball tournament; most of the hotels I went to
had basketball players staying there so it was not just the Orleans. There were
signs telling them how to behave and the players I saw in the elevator,
hallways, restaurants, were acting on their best behaviour. Back to the room:
the shower was good, nice pressure. All in all, it was clean which is a priority
for me. Unlike the Riviera....horrible...and cockroaches. I would go back to the
Orleans for sure. Oh, one more thing....the mattress on my bed was heavenly!!!!

The rooms are very nice. I just don't like when the door opens, you can see
people in bed... I love the open space in the room. The casino was small, but
plenty of machines. The nightly entertainment was good. Great hotel for
children!!! Room Tip: Great Price and great for families with children

My wife and I just finished a five day stay at The Orleans. The Orleans would be
a great place to stay if traveling with minor children, the grandparents or
both. If you plan on spending your entire family trip at the Orleans it has
everything for the young and the old. If you are between the ages of 21 and 60,
The Orleans may not be the place for you! There were teenagers roaming the halls
knocking on random doors then running away. They would also go down the hall
turning the "Do Not Disturb" signs hanging on the doors over to read "Maid
Service Requested". We found some of the geriatric crowd to be quite annoying
too. Many of them were both pushy and rude in both the casino and especially in
the "French Market Buffet" which I might add has average food. If you ignore the
old people grabbing food with their hands and are able to actually get to a food
station to get what you want you may like it. We also ate at "Big Al's Oyster
Bar", the "Courtyard Cafe" and the food court, all were very good. We rented a
car and was able to spend time at other casinos. The Boyd casinos in Las Vegas
are outstanding and we especially enjoyed Main Street Station and Sam's Town,
The Gold Coast was great too. All three would have been better choices for us
that is unless we had been traveling with teenagers or the grandparents then
like I said, the Orleans would be a great place to stay. My wife and I may stop
in The Orleans again to gamble but wouldn't stay again unless the room was
comped! Oh one other thing, I keep reading how The Orleans is smoky. Have these
people ever been to a casino? We have been in dozens and The Orleans ranks right
up there at the top. No problem with being smoky what so ever!
