Palms Place Hotel and Spa Reviews

I stayed at the palms in june 2011 I requested a king size bed, well needless to
say each room that I looked at I didn't see a king size bed. After being moved
from room to room I gave up at 2:30 am and just took what they consider a king.
I also had to call a manager about a stopped up tub needless to say a
maintenance was sent and I could not believe how much hair and grease that was
pulled from the drain. So ladies beware of the tubs that you are subjecting
yourself to when you decide to sit in one on vacation, me I always use shower
shoes just to take a shower in one. Well like I say not the best I was compt
time is money and when I'm on vacation that's my time. Enjoy!

A large group of us stayed here last week and the rooms were great, no complaint
there.
The elevators are horrible. You have to wait a minimum of 5 minutes to just get
into the elevator (waited 15 minutes once) and then you have to insert your room
key to get to your floor, but half the time your key will not register and the
elevator will keep moving and it will miss your floor. THEN you have to go back
down to the lobby before your key will register again.
The room keys get demagnetized. I cannot tell you how many times I had to go to
the lobby and get a new key. They wouldn't work in the elevator, then I would
get to my room and would have to go ALL THE WAY BACK DOWN to get a new key...
then WAIT again for the elevator.
The hotel needs more staff. No Taxi's like to come all the way to the hotel, and
would wait 20 minutes for a cab and would be the only person in the line.
I LOVED my room, but would never stay at this hotel again.

Having stayed here twice in the past three months, I am not 100% sure I will be
returning. Picking the Palms Place for my 30th birthday celebration was a
carefully calculated decision and it was a success in some ways, but a major
disappointment in one big way.
With a group of 30+ people, I knew I wanted a hotel that was smaller and would
be easy to have my friends nearby. The Palms Place was perfect for this.
Everything from the lobby to the pool to the bar made it easy to meet up and run
into friends throughout the course of the weekend. My friends loved the modern
touches and the friendly pool staff.
The problem was with our 2 bedroom suite which was really two different hotel
rooms "connected." On-line, this suite is advertised as 1,800 square feet and
cost us $700 per night. We thought it would be a perfect room to host my welcome
cocktail party on Friday night and entertain guests. And while it worked, it was
not what was advertised or made to believe what it was. It consists of a
1-Bedroom Suite and a Studio Suite with 2 closing doors leading to the main
floor hallway. There are two different room numbers and does not give the feel
that you are in a 2-Bedroom Suite. Our cocktail party never left the 1-Bedroom
Suite, as being in the Studio Suite would have been a different party
altogether. Additionally, had we have booked a 1-Bedroom Suite and a Studio
Suite separately, we would have saved $150 per night at time of booking. This
did not make me a happy hotel guest.
When we brought up our concerns to the front desk, the hotel representative was
a tad bit argumentative and didn't seem too concerned with our complaint. She
then confirmed that had we booked separately, it would have been cheaper, but we
"pay a premium" to have the rooms side-by-side. After explaining that we had
brought in 30+ people to their hotel and felt slightly cheated, she apologized
and said the best she could do was $50 off per night. Even if she had used the
$50 per night to send up a basket of fruit for my guests or a couple bottles of
bubbly, with a note apologizing, it would have gone a lot further. I guess this
is the difference between Palms Place and the Mandarin Oriental or even Aria.
If I received a good offer to stay in the 1-Bedroom Suite, I would consider. But
otherwise, my second impression was slightly soured.

I went to the spa two days during our quick trip to Vegas. It was a prefect way
to detox & recharge after some indulgent evenings of food & wine. The hotel
offers suites that are spacious & modern. The value is amazing but you will have
to cab it to the strip. Celebrities favor the hotel because it is high end but
low key.

Palms Place is a nice escape from the hustle and traffic of the strip. We stayed
in a 1bedroom room suite and it was awesome. The rooms are spacious and feels
like luxury! We were not able to access the balcony due to repairs, and we were
not to thrilled about that. The other thing I did not like, was the EXPENSIVE
room service food. My husband and I purchased 2 breakfast platters with a carafe
of orange juice, and ended up paying $80.00. WTH! (Hence the reason for the 3
instead of 4 stars...Also the concierge provided us with incorrect info, stating
that a show we wanted to see (Prince Tribute Show @Hooters) was sold out..BUT my
husband forced me to go to the hotel and check for ourselves, and low and
behold, not only was it NOT sold out, but was half empty!!!!
Other than that our stay was great, and I would stay there again, as the rooms
are great. |
