We cannot rate the service any higher - 5+++++ stars. We called for various
things, pillow, towels, hangers at different times and got them all promptly
with no tip expected. Amazing! We booked directly at the hotel website. Also we
were upgraded to a high floor with no upcharge. After the first night when we
found out the city view was better, we asked about moving. At first the person
at the desk said it would be a $10 upcharge for that side, then gave it to us
for nothing -- right across the hall. Very convenient to move. We couldn't be
happier with all of that. The casino decor was bland/ordinary to us because we
are design people. The rooms were nicely maintained, roomy, good maid service,
good bedding - they're not the Encore, but for $54 per night for 5 nights an
outstanding value. (We have stayed at many strip hotels including Encore, Aria,
MGM Grand, etc.) We enjoyed the pool and thought it was nice. Very pretty hot
tub area with beautiful vegetation. Food at cafe and buffet was adequate and
reasonably priced. Food at Oyster Bar was delicious. Didn't eat anywhere else.
Horse arena was outstanding. We aren't even horsey people, but went in to watch
a free national competition for a while. Really impressive riders. Hotel is 6
miles south from strip, but doesn't matter to us because we always rent a car -
which we recommend, since taxis are expensive, parking is free at all casinos
and we like to go to different shows and casinos. Makes for a much easier trip.
After you pay for a few taxis, you can get a rental for the same price and get
the freedom. (Car was $165/week). This is not a casino hotel for young people
that want a night club scene where they're staying. Stay there for a deal and go
somewhere else to party!

I'm not sure what hotel these other people who wrote great reviews are staying
at, but this is a terrible hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE. We're staying here
currently, & there are so many things wrong I don't even know where to begin.
When we booked online, we CALLED to ask if there was disabled parking with easy
access to the hotel & rooms. The person on the phone said 'yes.' We also asked
if there was free internet or wi-fi in the rooms, & were told 'yes.' As it turns
out, the disabled parking they directed us to is about 6 city blocks from the
door; & it's about another 3 to 4 block distance from there to the back of the
facility where the room elevators are. Two of the members of our party are
disabled, so this is hell for them. This is the most disabled-unfriendly hotel
I've ever seen.
I think these glowing reviews may be fake, or written by hotel employees. One of
them even mentions a FREE shuttle to the strip. There's no such thing! The
shuttle costs $8 - not a bad deal, but it definitely is NOT "free."

We stayed two nights in May 11. Location is well south of main strip but if you
are happy with that this hotel must be on your list for value and comfort. Big
outlet mall is nearby, and interstate freeway is easily accessible.
Very good midweek room rate; enormous, clean and comfortable room as reviewed in
T/A, and buffets/restaurants were very good value, good quality, although
(presumably in common with all casinos) they are co-located with the unavoidable
gambling activities. Didnt try the hotel shuttle to the strip - drove in which
took about 30mins in traffic, 15 mins otherwise. However the hotel is very big,
and reception and overall service is a bit impersonal. However once you have
worked out the hotel 'systems', everything works very smoothly.

We stayed on a week day at South Point Hotel for $55.00, including room tax.
There is no resort fee, as almost all other hotels in Las Vegas charge. They
avoid having to add this charge by letting you select the extras you need and
want to pay for. As an example, it is $13.00/day for internet access, or you can
get the business package which gives you access to the fitness center and
in-room internet for $20.00/day. South Point is 8-1/2 miles from the strip,
shuttle service is offered at $8.00 for an all-day pass. There are frequent
pick-ups both at the hotel and at the strip.
The rooms are large and clean. The bath has a large area for toiletries and I
liked the safety bar over the tub to assist getting in and out for the shower.
Their pool is very nice with bar service, but no restaurant, only a snack bar.
The snack bar was closed the day we were there to we had lunch at the Coronado
Café. Our server, Alexander, was top notch. I had the calf’s liver, with bacon
and onion. I haven’t seen that on a menu in a really long while and enjoyed the
preparation of the cooks at the Café. My husband had the grilled ham and cheese
sandwich and said it was very good.
There are several restaurants in the hotel, but not all are open early in the
week. We had reservations for dinner at Michael’s, but when we arrived they
refused us service. My husband was dressed in well-tailored Bermuda shorts and a
dressy silk shirt, but his attire didn’t meet their dress code. He probably
would have been served if he had been wearing overalls. We then went to dine at
Don Vito’s.

My family of 4 went for a sibling's birthday celebration, we met relatives from
CA. The rooms were great, the service from the desk clerk to the coffee shop
were wonderful! The pool and grounds were amazing, you could just stay there and
never have to leave they had everything that you wanted or needed to make you
vacation complete. I would definitely return and recommend it to everyone. It
was a great experience and I can't wait to return:) Thank you
Room Tip: Not sure? My room was booked for me by a relative. |
