Many children running around the casino with little supervision. The casino
cashiers were less than competent or friendly. Way too far out and close to
nothing, seemed like a poor/bad part of town. I will NEVER again stay there. The
rooms were very old and poorly kept. They had trouble with their internet
service for their free wi-fi. Long lines at check in and check out. The
breakfast buffet was pretty good. Next time I will stay at the Gold Coast, much
better part of town and not that much more expensive if at all. Lots more to do.
Love Red Rock...my favorite but they have gotten extremely expensive to stay
there!

Summerlin. Red Rock would be my first preference but the Rampart or Gold Coast
would be just as good if you do not want to stay on the strip. I would never
gamble on the strip (I used to live in Vegas for years) Henderson area is also
very nice. Green Valley would be great. Lots to do, nice shops, great
restaurants and the casino is very good.
When to go
I found out the hard way that spring is not the time to go! The weather in Vegas
was wonderful but with all the severe weather (they just had that horrible
tornado in Joplin) the airplane ride was awful!!! Had 2 hours of turbulent out
of a 3 1/2 hour flight! The flight attendants could not leave their seats it was
so bad. Never again!
Must see
The Bellagio conservatory is a must
and walk right behind it to the bakery shop to see the 3 chocolate fountains!
Very cool and the best cheese danish I have ever had in my life! Of course, the
waters outside are great. My favorite place to gamble is at Red Rock. I love it
there and would stay if it was more affordable but they are on par with the
Bellagio now. Almost the only place I gamble though. Hash house a go go is the
best for breakfast and mimosa's!

I booked my room three months in advance and had a king bed smoking room. When I
arrived they had only queen smoking rooms available. then the elevators stopped
working due to some kids pulling a fire alarm. I have a bad back so I waited in
the casino for them to fix the issue. At about 3am I was told by a security
officer that the elevators would be down till morning. You think they would
offer some assistance carrying my luggage, but no! I then had to drag my luggage
up to the 6th floor by myself and to top it off they still had the nerve to
charge me $58 in so called resort fees. I got news for ya, this place ain't no
resort! Terrible hotel!!!!

It is ok for people not that interested in going to the strip. If you are
interested in going to the strip do not stay here. They have no shuttle and it
will cost you on average $25.00 each way to get to the strip. They also require
a $100.00 deposit they say in case of charges. Well there are! You get a $14.00
a day service fee charged to you when you leave.

Stay on the strip!! It is more expensive but if you stay off the strip you will
more than likely equal or exceed the cost difference in cab fair! If you do not
know Vegas, the Cab Drivers will take you for a ride.

I chose this hotel as a place to stay for one night while traveling through to
California, and not wanting to stay on the strip. The hotel complex itself
appears nice, but was farther off the freeway than expected and through a pretty
rough part of town. At check in the resort fee was $14.95, not the $12.95 that
was listed in my Expedia terms. The line was long and slow and only one clerk at
the service desk. They also wanted to charge me an additional $100 by cash or
credit card as a hold for extra room services. After I argued that this was not
disclosed in my paperwork from Expedia, she less than pleasantly waved the fee
and turned off "extra's" in the room. The kids play area had looked fun in the
photos, but I found it was more of a place to dump your kids off, which I was
not comfortable with, even waiting out front you wouldn't have been able to see
them much. The movie theater was expensive, and the arcade didn't have much for
little kids. We ended up leaving and going to the strip for entertainment, which
is what I was trying to avoid in the first place. We didn't plan to swim, but
could see the pool out the window, and wouldn't have taken my kids to the pool
because of the crowd that was there. The buffet didn't open until 8, and we were
ready to be on the road at 7. It was an okay place for the night, but I am not
sure if I would stay there again. The rate was low, but you get what you pay
for. |
