Had a comfortable stay at the Tropicana. We paid $65 a night (including resort
fee) so was a good value for the price. Hotel room was comfortable, beds were
super comfy and we slept well

I go to Vegas a lot. I go for work and for fun...love to gamble and love the
excitement. Most of all I love the hotels. Last year my friend asked me to join
him at the Tropicana. I didn't realize they had completely reinvented this
famous hotel

Stayed here during the 2011 National Finals Rodeo because the rate for two
nights was less then one night at most of the other hotels on the strip. Check
in was quick and easy, the only thing was I

We stayed Friday to Monday and just loved the location. I've stayed in the MGM
before and liked being at one end of the strip but I hated the MGM because it
was just too big and didn't like the rooms. The view from the Tropicana was
INCREDIBLE!! We were looking right at the MGM, NY and Excalibur and had a great
view of the strip. I loved the tropical scent that was piped throughout the
hotel, I could have sworn it was in the pool as well. The pizza/cafe in the
hotel had fantastic food and for a reasonable price. Plus there was a Denny's
nearby. I like laying by the pool so I did a lot of research to find a nice pool
and this one didn't disappoint. Having said that, the area is nowhere near the
size of the pool area of the MGM so when they start blaring the music from Club
Nikki, mixed in with the music at the main pool (that I LOVED) plus a third
section going, it sounded just awful and was not relaxing in the least.
The only two "big" complaints I had was that, because we stayed the weekend, we
didn't realize just how loud the music at Club Nikki would be, though the lady
at check-in said that being on the 15th floor we should be all right. With the
windows open it was like having the music right there in your room. With the
windows closed you could still hear it very clearly, until 3 a.m. both nights. I
know that you don't go to Vegas to sleep, but 3 a.m. is a bit late for me to be
listening to blaring music.
The second complaint was that when we finally made it to the pool I was happy to
see how many available lounge chairs there were. Well, there was a reason they
were available - they were all broken!! Having undergone a big reno, couldn't
they have sprung for new chairs? I gave up after the 9th chair and just
collected 3 lounge pillows which I used to prop up my chair. Not a big deal in
the end, I was just glad to soak up some sun. :)
Would I stay here again - yes! But not on a weekend. Maybe the sound was better
in the other tower. It was a very clean, bright and airy hotel, not dark and
dingey like most of the other hotels close by. It's very close to the airport so
it's a cheap taxi ride.
