Stayed here two years ago. Not pleased with the lack of security to check for
room keys.
Very different than two years ago. Even when guards were there they did not ask.
Buffet was nothing special. Enjoyed eating at other buffets, and restaurants.
Our bed was good, and maid was great and did a great job with the room. I left a
tip on the sink and she did not take it. So then left it either with the towels
or on the bed. The check-in line was long but went fast and check-out was good.
No problems with our bill. To hot to check out the pool this visit. It is a pain
to have people ask you all the time if you are checking in and they can comp you
a show. Would like to do it to them on their vacation . Parking is easy but long
walk if you are in tower 1. No coffee pot and happy I brought our own! CVS is
short walk away so you can get some supplies there.
Room Tip: Room was clean, great maid.

Resort fees....fridge fee....early check-in fee. Fees everywhere. We were
invited to Vegas by some friends to enjoy the 4th. they decided on the Excalibur
due to the low price. We arrived early. We were informed check-in was after
4:00PM, but we could check in now for 10.00 more dollars or come back after
4:00pm.My wife has meds that need to stay cool, so we needed a fridge, 25.00
fee. A 12.50 per day resort fee is accessed upon check-in for certain uses of
the facilities. Since we were traveling together we needed to stay close or at
least on the same floor. We were unable to be on the same floor, however for a
10.00 fee they could upgrade us so we could be close together. my wife expressed
her disappointment was this fee, at the end the fee was waived, and we were able
stay next door to each other. The rooms had a safe in them, which there was no
mention of them on the website, very pleased with that. Next time I think we
will ask about all fees up front....or stay else where.

this was the 3rd time this year we have stayed in the Excalibur, and I am still
disappointed with what we encountered. We had 2 rooms in tower 2 which are the
"updated" rooms. Both rooms were filthy!!! and i don't say that lightly. There
was at least half an inch of dust on all furniture in the rooms, there were
stains on the duvets and the bathroom floors were dirty. Our air con wasn't
working on arrival but the maintenance staff were quick to fix this. I can't say
the same attention was given when we went to check out, the lady on the checkout
desk did not make eye contact with us, and made no attempt to apologise for the
room being dirty. unfortunately this was not the 1st dirty room we encountered
here, when we stayed in March we had booked a room in tower 1.... big
mistake!!!! The room was covered in bodily stains and dust, at that time we were
given a different room and we just attributed the condition of the room to the
fact it was just after spring break.. we were wrong. It appears now the
cleanliness of the rooms is not a priority for the staff here and we will not be
coming back.

We got an upgrade into the widescreen rooms in tower 2, with a view onto the
strip looking towards NY NY and MGM Grand. Our Room was large, comfortable and
modern and what a view! We stayed for 7 days and had previously stayed
elsewhere. Although less expensive than some others it was more comfortable and
relaxed, and the swimming pools are great in a large clean area that gets the
sun pretty much all day long. They have an adults only pool if you want to avoid
children which is shallow enough that they allow you to sit in the pool with
your drinks which aren't badly priced.
The only downside to this hotel is that there isn't really anywhere for a
quality meal. However, other hotels are very close by that gives you plenty of
choices.
All in all, I'd highly recommend this hotel. My wife and I will definitely be
back.

The hotel is located at one end of the "strip". This area is cleaner than the
other end. The Bellagio, Caesars, Mirage and Venetian are about 1 - 1 1/2 miles
away. There is a city bus (Deuce) that goes up and down the strip. A 24hr ticket
is $7.
The architecture of the Excalibur hotel is nice. It doesn't have a "lobby" per
say. You walk straight into the casino. Within the hotel there is a food court.
There is a game room for the children. There is a monorail that connect the
Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay.
I chose a room with the "flat screen TV". The room is fairly large. The bathroom
is large as well. It doesn't look "rundown". The beds are comfortable and the
room was quiet and clean. There is no mini fridge or coffee maker. Blow drier and
iron are available. Some rates include free breakfast or lunch at different
restaurants. This is the way to go, if available. There is also a "deal" at the
Excalibur and Luxor for meals. This is not as appealing unless you plan on being
around these hotels during your stay. Tower II has the option of pool view or
roof top view. Odd number room have the roof top view.
The hotel has 3 pools. One is a kids pool with a small slide that kids up to
about 7 years will enjoy. The other are mostly adult. All of the 3 pools are
"play pools". There are plenty of lifesavers.
This hotel has a 12.50/day resort fee. It includes internet access. Overall,
there is nothing special about this hotel. It is just a good value hotel! |
