The Flamingo is one of the oldest properties on the Strip. For those of you not
familiar, The Flamingo was the “original” Strip hotel, in fact the Strip was
built around the Flamingo. (Interestingly this is also their new marketing
campaign) After this visit, I think the Flamingo is in desperate need of an
implosion and a re-building from the ground up, as developers have done over the
years with many of the old school original hotels.
The only reason I would stay here again is the location though after this
experience, I'm not sure I would even do that. The slots at this hotel also tend
to be a little looser than those at sister property Caesars Palace.
Unless I pay for a Go Room or can be guaranteed that my room is in better
condition than the one I stayed in, or if they level this place and rebuild from
the ground up, I won’t stay here again.

My husband and I went to Vegas for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We had been
curious about the Flamingo due to it's great location on the strip and we heard
the pool was great. At first everything was going great, we checked in and got
upgraded to an excellent strip view room, we were already feeling lucky and we
just got there, however, that all changed as soon as we opened the door to our
room. Yes, the view was great, but it ended there. The room was filthy. the
carpet was so disgusting that I didn't want to put my bare foot on it. there
were stains everywhere and the bedding on the box spring obviously hadn't been
changed in ages because there were dust bunnies in the folds ...even the alarm
clock on the nightstand was covered in dust and the bathroom was even worse. The
light fixutures were kind of rusty and there was mildew in the shower. the
longer we were in the room, the more depressing it got since the thought of
staying in such a crappy room for our anniversary was not very romantic at all.
We went back to the front desk and waited close to 30 minutes and the girl at
the desk informed us that they were booked full for the next several days. After
pushing the issue more, she went to speak with her manager and was able to move
us to another room. the new room was still very dated and the carpet was stained
but it was definitely cleaner than the first room. I just expected more since we
have been to Vegas several times at several different hotels and always had nice
and clean rooms. All that being said, the pool was pretty nice and we like the
casino area and the location is the best and also has a stop on the monorail,
but I doubt we will be staying at Flamingo again on a future visit unless they
do some updating to the rooms and clean them a little better.

Overall, for a business trip, my expectations were met.
Although it's in a great location, keep in mind that this is a very old hotel so
very little is brand new and fresh.
I stayed in a "Go" room which has newer updates with a very modern decor.
Housekeeping did a fine job each day. The carpet throughout the resort needs
replacing, definitely showing its age.
The service was good, including check-in, check-out, and our accommodations and
food for the meeting.

It was horrible. The pool had cigarette butts floating in it, along with empty
beer bottles. My room wasn't working so everyday I had to wait in line to get a
new one. The rooms were hardly ever clean and it took me over an hour to get
clean towels. Trust me people, when I read all the bad reviews I thought they
were from a bunch of snooty rich people, but I'm just a regular guy who wants a
clean hotel. And this is not the place. Save your money and stay downtown on
Fremont street. Its a lot cheaper and much much cooler.

I stayed at the Flamingo seven years ago and loved it. I had a great view of the
strip and a nice, large remodelled room. So, I was looking forward to my stay at
the Flamingo the weekend of July 15th. What a change! I was given a room on the
4th floor, which had a view of the ugly rooftop mechanical system. (Every time I
travel solo, hotels seem to think it is okay to put the solo traveller with the
view of the mechanical system). The room was a bit drab and weary. The shower
really needed an upgrade; the shower head was old and crusty. The pillows were
lumpy. There was also food stuck in the carpet and the previous occupant's hair
clip in the chair. Next time I go to Vegas, I will try another hotel.
