I stayed as part of a large reunion group at Harrah's hotel for 4 days and 3
nights. I was worried about dirtiness and bugs and all the other horror stories
that you hear about, but was pleasantly surprised that our room was clean and
not run down looking. We were in the Carnival tower and never heard any of our
neighbors or had any issues with housekeeping- tip though, if you leave any
electronics out on the beds, they will not make them. Not terrible (and I should
have put it away anyway) but kind of irritating when I was expecting a nice made
bed. The shower has no "tub" so be sure to pick your clothes up off the floor
before getting in. I do wish there was more counter space, but I was staying
with other women, so maybe bathroom counter space was just at a premium for our
particular group =) Another negative was the front desk was ridiculously slow
and kind of a PITA to deal with to make any changes to reservations and we were
unable to leave any keys or anything for our travel mates at the front desk.
Also, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go to the cafe/restaurant for anything that
resembles food. You will be eating grease laden facsimiles of food and the staff
wasn't very polite. Too many other choices to waste time there. The location was
great for us- right next to shopping and a quick monorail or cab ride almost
anywhere else.

Went to Las Vegas for the first time as a solo traveller. Hotel was great! Staff
were helpful and knowledgeable.
Stayed in the Carnival Tower Rm 1527. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Liked
the size. As a single traveller I didn't need a lot of space.
The Cafe and Flavors Buffet were good. I would have preferred another choice for
take out coffee as I'm not a big fan of Starbucks. Went out to Denny's for very
early breakfast rather than get a Starbucks coffee first thing in the morning.
Location was very convenient to everything I wanted to do...figured out the
transit (bus) system by researching online before I went and was able to get
myself around quite easily.
All in all, had a great trip and am already planning the next one.

My husband and I along with another couple stayed at this hotel from April
18-21st. Upon check-in we were assigned a room in the mardi-gras tower which
appears to be the newer of the two towers. We arrived late and the hotel was
full so we were assigned a room on the 3rd floor which is a pet friendly floor
and our view was of air conditioning and kitchen vents and a catwalk. Not the
best, so we kept our curtains closed. The room did have a nice bathroom with a
flatscreen TV and the room also had a flatscreen TV. The bed and the pillows
were amazingly comfortable. Unfortunately, after going to bed very late we were
woken up at around 6:30 am by screaming kids and an angry mom along with barking
dogs. We requested a room change and got it without problem.
Our second room was in the carnival tower which had similar rooms but had older
tube style TVs and the rooms were not as pretty as they were in the mardi gras
tower, but they were bigger and the view was of the pool and strip. We had no
problems at all with the room and the beds were just as comfortable. We did have
a sight problem with the AC shutting off at night as the AC worked on a motion
sensor but was not too big of a deal.

The location of Harrah's was amazing as it is mid strip, across from Caesars
Palace and within walking distance of most of the main attractions. In terms of
location, Harrah's is hard to beat.
We did go to the pool on two occasions and I will say that I would not stay here
for the pool, it is small and there is not a whole lot of room. We did not have
a hard time getting a lounger, but we did have to go to the 2nd level and the
3rd level the second day to get a lounger. The pool is on the first level.
The casino is very smoky so for me, it was not the place I want to be,
especially when a smoker decides to sit next to you but there are many other
casinos that have better ventilation systems that you can play in. I recommend
the Wynn or the venetian they are super nice.
We did got to two shows, Mystere and Le Reve for which we purchased tickets for
at tickets4tonight and got our tickets for less then $100 each for really good
seats. Definitely recommend these shows, they were fantastic.
We only ate at one restaurant in the Hotel, KGB burger which was great. Best
burger I ever had and we were able to use 2 for 1 coupons that we got on
check-in. (Be sure to ask for coupons when you check in). They let us use two
coupons at our table of 4 for the burgers were less than $10 each with fries.
Great deal! They also have these really great sweet potato tots there which are
really good.
Overall we had a great experience at Harrah's and for the price that we paid
($30 per night for the Sun-Tuesday night stays) it was worth every penny.
Room Tip: Use your in room safe for your valuables. |
