For an older hotel/casino & being in the middle of the strip, the Imperial
Palace Hotel & Casino is nice. It has it's little flaws in the rooms, but It's
small so you're not having to walk miles just to get to your room. My biggest
complaint about this hotel/casino is that their Valet fills up everyday. Also,
beware that this hotel/casino is set back on the strip, so you have a hard time
entering & exiting due to all the people walking across the driveways.

This is possibly the single worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life.
This is saying something, because when I was a student I stayed in some
incredibly cheap and squalid hellholes. The check-in lines were interminable,
the toilet barely flushed, the shower was backed up the entire time I was there
(despite repeated requests for maintenance, which were cheerfully received by
the font desk but then ignored completely), there was a large blotch of some
unidentifiable reddish brown substance crusted to the threadbare carpet, the
bedsprings were shot, the bathroom sink smelled like a sulfurous Yellowstone
geyser, and the elevator was full of trash, empty beer bottles, and cigarette
butts. The lights are dim, the carpet and wallpaper are ancient and dingy, and
the noise is nonstop. The Imperial Palace is sickening. The good news is, after
you've stayed at this dump, Motel 6 will seem like the Ritz!

we stayed at IP in 2009 & knew the hotel was older & elevator waits were long
but had discovered 2nd set of elevators behind main ones on 1st visit, so had no
problems this time with elevator waits. We knew not to expect too much on this
trip and since we wouldn't be spending a lot of time in the room, it would be
just a place to sleep. The wait to check in was approx 1hr - we pre-paid for 2
smoking rooms side by side and they had us booked into non-smoking rooms but
said we could smoke on the balcony - no thanks - we respect non-smokers' rights
to be smoke free & didn't want to deal with complaints - we were finally booked
into tower 5 on 12th floor & were warned that it may be noisy until approx 3 am
- noise not too bad but the smells were so bad that we had to ask to be moved -
food was left sitting outside rooms & people were sitting on the floor in the
hallway eating - disgusting! We were finally moved the next day but had to
settle for rooms two doors apart - no big deal - however one of the rooms
smelled like a sewer & we had to have housekeeping come up to fix the toilet.
The toilet stopped flushing in the 2nd room & we had to have them come up again.
Then it happened again a few hours after they had fixed it. These rooms were on
the 2nd floor not too far from the pool but our view was into the loading area
for buses - much noisier at times & couldn't go out on the balcony much because
of fumes. The front desk and housekeeping staff were polite and as helpful as
they could be - no complaints there - but had to go down to desk as wait to get
through from phone in room was too long. We lost approx 1 whole day between
going down to front desk, waiting to change rooms and waiting for housekeeping
to come to fix toilets. Also would have preferred a fridge and safe in the room.
Met other guests who had changed rooms twice and a couple in a pet room that was
infested with flees. Casino was great, dealertainers always fantastic but
overall very disappointed with this experience at Imperial Palace & won't be
back here to stay.

While checking in my wife spotted the sign that said the hotel was pager
friendly, it was advertising the new Hangover slot machines. We had to seek out
those machines and play them before we even went up to our room and they were
fun!! I wish you had more of them though.
We got up to our room on the 18th floor and was expecting the letters of the
Imperial Palace sign to partially block our view but we were just above them. We
had a wonderful view of the strip, Bellagio's fountains, and Mirage's volcano
from our balcony. It turned out to be a very nice place to watch the sun come up
after a night full of Vegas fun.
We've stayed here twice now and will definitely stay again. I rated the
restaurant low but I only had the cafe at like 4 in the morning. The tables were
dirty and the food was just ok. The other restaurants are probably better.

This hotel was dilapidated, very dirty, and in need of several repairs. We were
in tower 5 and out of the 4 elevators only 1 worked! One person in our party was
handicapped and they could not accommodate. On top of that, we were given a room
facing the Las Vegas Blvd. We were on the 16th floor and still could hear a VERY
LOUD club outside until 4am. The only reason I gave this place any points at all
was that the restaurant inside (House Hash a GoGo) was fantastic; super fast,
friendly, and huge portions. I think I would of been more satisfied if I slept
in the car.

We absolutely love the Imperial Palace. I have been going to LV for the past 9
years and we always stay at IP. Yes it is an older hotel/casino and the rooms
aren't lavish but when you're paying $30 a night, what do you expect? IP is in
the BEST location on the strip and the rooms are super cheap. We have a rewards
card and we make sure to use it on every machine while we gamble at any Harrahs
casino. We have yet to pay for a room full price. And we don't gamble all that
much! We are extremely low budget people so we appreciate the comp'd rooms we're
always getting. In July we're staying for 6 days and only have to pay $78!! If
you can get past the material things like updated rooms and fancy casinos this
is your place! |
