I was apprehensive after reading the reviews on here, but it is a pleasant clean
hotel in a good location. Beware of the airport though, we got charged $17
because we had 3 cases (we were travelling the US) which our return trip was $8.
It is getting a little dated and the rooms could do with refurbishing but
overall it is only somewhere to sleep, when in Vegas you don't stay in your room
too long anyway.
We were given a free upgrade to a Tower Room, which was fantastic, it takes a
little while to get from Check in to your room but that isn't a problem. They
are adjoining rooms so if you get someone next door who is a little loud in the
night (as we did) it is a little tedious but it isn't the hotels fault. There is
also a baggage check in facility in the Lower Lobby if travelling with certain
airlines so you can spend your last hours luggage free.
We weren't harassed too much about time share or tickets, we were a little taken
back by the charge of $4.95 for an ATM withdrawal so decided to pay with
everything on card. Whilst playing on the floor we weren't offered waitress
service but again that wasn't something we automatically expected and the Casino
is smaller than some of the other hotels which was better.
The way it is adjoined to the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay either by monorail or
internal walk way was fantastic, shops and bars to explore along the way too...
The Irish Bar is definitely somewhere to visit via the Mandalay Place, and
slightly cheaper for drinks than the casino floor.
The 1 down side is the food court/entertainment lobby in the hotel is very dark,
there isn't alot of light which is difficult to decypher when your eyesight
isn't the best... they are doing some extension work there which is good news.
Overall fantastic place and would definitely visit again in the near future.

Location of the hotel quite further out of the main Vegas entertaining area,
extremely noisy as there is huge night club name Lax located in the hotel
specially on Wednesday night music heavily play so disturbing, we ended up have
to change hotel after 2 nights there at Luxor, spoke to hotel night shift
supervisor he did not care. we will be back to Vegas but one thing for sure is
we would never stay at Luxor ever again.

The room was a little dated & had some internet connection issues but other than
that a ok place to stay. At the end of the strip so not so noisy but a bit of a
walk to get to the show we were seeing. We were in a room which had no view at
all but the up side was it was quiet. 24 hour Starbucks & McDonalds inside the
Luxor was a treat for the kids. Very large complex so the service not as good as
we expect from the smaller accommodation. We had to ring & ring again half hour
later to see what happened to internet man that we were told would be there in
10 minutes. Then we had more problems with the connection 2 nights later but
this time gave up on waiting for the staff to come fix it.

Ok, I've probably stayed at the Luxor eight or nine times, so you call tell my
review will be slanted towards the positive. I will layout the negative aspects,
but I still think it's one of the best properties on the strip.
I have long since started staying at the towers which offer a more contemporary
Vegas experience. But for those that like to say they stayed in a pyramid and
dig the funky sideways elevators, you can get a great discount for pyramid
rooms. |
