This is one of the best hotels in Vegas for your money. Trust me I have been to
Vegas over 20 times and have strayed in most of the hotels.
Pros:
The rooms are all suites and include a second bathroom and having the second
bathroom (toilet and sink only) was an important benefit when having 3 in the
room.
The room was furnished beautifully with a 42" tv in the living room as well as a
wet bar in the living room.
Access to the Mandalay Bay pool area which is the best pool in vegas hands down.
Note water is heated to 80 degrees which makes the pool usable in the fall
months like Sept, Oct.
Cons:
Walk to Mandalay Bay pool area is very long and requires you walk through the
entire Mandalay Bay Casino. Also when busy they only give each person a single
towel which is ridiculous for a 4 star resort. You end up going back and forth
to get a reasonable # of towels for the day which for me is 3. ( 2 to cover
chair and one to dry with).
Dinner buffet at $29 on a Saturday was not worth the money. Prime Rib was
rubbery and other meats were subpar. Breakfast and lunch buffets at $20 are just
OK. Tip: The Luxor next door has a dinner buffet that is only $20 and has much
more variety and better quality of food.
Elevators are noticeably noisy and seem like some maintenance is in order
Overall a great hotel if you can get a deal on the suite rooms at $200 or less a
night. I highly recommend TheHotel.

Taking a family trip and we were passing through Las Vegas. My wife and I go to
Las Vegas regularly and usually stay at the Bellagio. This time we had our 4
year old twins with us so we thought we would stay at Mandalay Bay and enjoy the
wave pool and the aquarium. I thought I booked the Mandalay Bay but I was
"upgraded" to a suite at THEhotel. The room was nice but with 2 kids we did not
stay out late. We were on the 26th floor but starting at 10pm the club at the
top of the hotel on the 64th floor was so loud we could hear everything until
2am.
Recommendation if you are traveling with a family and planning to be in the room
early DO NOT stay here. The staff really trues to convince me to stay at
THEhotel instead of Mandalay Bay. Do not make that mistake.
The pool was great and is perfect for kids.

This was my 3rd stay at THEhotel and I've always loved the rooms for the
layout/space. Even thought the sq footage is similar to Encore, I prefer the
layout at THEhotel where you get a true suite with a door between the LR and BR
and the second half bath is a luxury not found elsewhere for a standard room
category. We were 2 females sharing a double room and having that second bath
was primo for getting ready. Room temperature was great and I like that each
room of the suite has it's own thermostat. Plenty of space and 2 flat screen tvs
(1 in each room) plus a baby LCD in the main bath. The tv is in the right spot
in the bath so you can even watch tv from the shower or tub!
Now the cons: while I appreciate the sexiness of the dark furniture and low
lighting, the lighting should be on a proper dimmer switch so you have the
option of actually seeing well. They have a dimmer but your choices are dark to
dim! The very low lighting isn't great for getting ready but since they have a
lighted makeup mirror on an arm in the bathroom, I'll forgive them. Second, the
room was looking a little shabby: the bed skirt had a tear in it and the
lampshade on the night stand had a big rip in it.
Overall, I love the ambiance of THEhotel and I like how it is a different world
from the Mandalay Bay annex.

We did have a hiccup at check in. There were 3 of us and one woman had her own
room. We requested that we have our rooms at least on the same floor and
hopefully near one another. We had requested 2 beds in our room. At check in,
the agent said that the hotel was completely sold out and that she couldn't
grant us a room with 2 beds, nor on the same floor. We were on the 37th floor
and our friend was on 28. The agent recommended that we call the front desk the
next morning since many check out on Sundays. We knew it would be a hassle, but
had no choice and would hope for the best in the morning. We got to our room and
it immediately reeked of cigarettes even though we were in a NS room. We
immediately turned around and went back downstairs to the front desk. I spotted
our original agent, Gigi and explained. She apologized and said she would go in
the back and see if she could work some 'magic'. I decided that if she came back
with good news, I would tip her $20. Sure enough, not only did she now
miraculously have a room with 2 beds, but also on the same floor as our friend!
How so? We didn't care and all that mattered was that we got what we wanted! I
gave her the $20 and thanked her for her efforts. When we go to the room, we
were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't smokey.
