Palace Station Hotel and Casino Reviews

My first trip to LV and I stayed here with my wife and 4-year old daughter - got
a deal thru travel website for tower room ($45 per day) + resort fees (16$ per
day !!!). However at check-in I realized that the room was on third floor and
didnt have any good view at all. However it was non-smoking, very clean and had
good space as well.
I would have given higher rating but one of the reason was that the hotel didn't
provide any drinking water in the room. When I called up the room service they
informed that they will charge for the water.
Its not very far from the strip but you need your own vehicle as the shuttle
service is limited and the last shuttle operates at 11 PM. I didn't dine at the
hotel at all and hence no comments on the food.

Do not go to this hotel.
We were given a room at the back, with no elevator and no services.
We thought we were given a room with the hotel workers.
Also got a surcharge of $17 per day, even though this was a package done with
the purchase of the airline ticket.
Do not waste your time with this hotel, get one at the Strip and have fun.
Lots of food at the buffet but below standard for my taste.

The reception people were very helpful as soon as we started to talk to them.
Nothing was too much trouble - all our requests were looked after and we had a
room in the Tower. The room was big and the beds very comfortable with all you
would want.
We joined the casino club and that gave us cheaper buffet prices - $20 all day
buffet - you can't beat that. The food was better than most buffets we had in
Las Vegas and the cheese burger they freshly made was outstanding.
It was only a 10 minute drive to the Strip and they also had a Shuttle if you
need it.
Nearby is a 7Eleven store and it is only a few minutes drive to China Town.
The heated pool was excellent and the spa was great, all the people we met there
could not fault anything. If we go back to Vegas - Palace Station is where we
will be.

After reading all the glowing reviews of Palace Station, we booked a 3 night
stay. Well, it was okay, but not great. The tower rooms were nicely redone and
the bed was comfortable. The bath towels were very, very small and they only
gave you one towel per person. The resort fee is a little high for what you get.
They make you think you're getting all these great amenities, but an average
traveler wouldn't use half of them. It did cover the use of the WiFi, but only
for one computer/IPOD, so if you have a spouse or kids that use it, you'll have
to pay another fee. The advertise the great prices on they buffet, but that only
applies if you have a players card. If you don't it's $5.00. Of course we didn't
know this until we were already to pay. The cocktails wait staff is a little
rude and the gambling wasn't great. Check in was pretty slow, and there was a
computer glitch one night shutting down the the portion of the slot machines
that handle the tickets. You could play, but you had to use cash and you had to
cash out your tickets before moving to another machine.
On the plus side, the cafe food was great and the Mexican restaurant is one of
the best! Parking was easy and the location right by the 15 freeway can't be
beat.
I think the most irritating aspect is that Louie Anderson's picture is
EVERYWHERE, even on the room keys. NOT a guy you want to be looking at every
time you turn around.

This is an off strip casino hotel that should not be overlooked. A great,
friendly staff with an atmosphere that makes you want to go back. Clean,
comfortable, quiet, good food, reasonably priced (and on weekends) and well
managed. A shuttle can take you over to the Strip that drops you off at the
Fashion Mall maybe 10 blocks away and runs often. For a true exposure to LV we
stayed at three different properties 2 nights each. Palace Station was the high
point for us in several respects. The quality of the gaming was very high as
table game minimums were low and there were always seats-the dealers were well
trained, without errors, and made it fun to either win or lose as was the case.
Since I only play Baccarat this was of major importance. Not a kids place but
nevertheless a pleasant stay and a great place to win or lose if you're a card
player, especially Baccarat. If only LV would eliminate casino smoking-tired of
that-ugh-they should know better. |
