Palms Place Hotel and Spa Reviews

stayed for 3 nights in a studio apartment with continental breakfast provided.
The place is amazing. the bathroom was spacious and sheer luxury. The view from
the window was panoramic of the Vegas strip. The bed was comfortable with lovely
plushy expensive pillows. We could have self catered as all equipment was
provided but we ate in restaurants. The fitness suite and spa was part of our
package and both were excellent.
I would recommend this hotel highly. It was not situated on the strip
and the strip was not comfortable walking distance from
it but the gold coast place over the road run a free
shuttle bus onto the strip and we were allowed to use
it. Just a warning we were charged a daily resort tax
which we had overlooked so just to be aware of that .

I stayed at Palms Place for two nights for a Bachelorette Party and really
enjoyed it! The location is far from the Strip so if you don't have a car then
you will have to take a taxi but I could have stayed there the entire time if I
could since the pool, although small, was never crowded, there's a sky tube to
Palms Casino, where there are clubs, movie theater, food court, gambling, etc. I
prefer to stay in a quiet and smaller resort but is connected to a casino or
take a cab the Strip. I hate the long corridors and walking through a smoked
filled casino.
The room was great. It was spacious, a nice kitchenette with microwave, stove,
sink, and 2 refrigerators--one is the mini bar frig and the other is empty for
your stuff. The bed was comfortable. It was really odd but there were 2 TVs side
by side on the wall so sometimes the remote would turn on both of them. The
bathroom layout was different than a normal hotel bathroom (if you wanted to
take a bath you had to go through the standing shower area to get to the
bathtub...usually it's either a shower head inside a bathtub or completely
separate bathtub and a standing shower) but I didn't think it was bad.
The bad thing I didn't like is the required resort fee ($15 + tax), which only
includes $20 drink voucher for casino bars, continental breakfast at Simon's
restaurant on the 6th floor and parking. I think that's pretty ridiculous since
I didn't have time to go to the casino bars, the continental breakfast wasn't
that filling and parking in all Vegas casinos is free so why do we need to pay a
resort fee for it? Internet is not included in the resort fee and use of spa/gym
facilities is $30. So overall, there's a lot of added cost upon check-in. And
cell phone reception in my room wasn't that great so if you have a smartphone
and you are trying to check your emails, it might be slower than usual.
BUT overall, I thought the room had everything I needed and if the price was
right, I would definitely come back!

My wife and I (late 40’s, early 50’s) just returned from a fantastic four-night
stay at the Palms Place Hotel and Spa. This was our third trip to Las Vegas. Ten
years ago, I stayed in a suite in the Palms tower just after it first opened. We
booked the travel package through Travelocity and got an unbelievably low price
for four nights in a “deluxe” (read: standard) room in the original Palms tower.
When we arrived, we asked the front desk clerk if we could upgrade to a studio
suite in the newer PalmsPlace tower. Even with the upgrade, the room charge was
only $100 per night plus tax…for a contemporary suite on the 51st floor with a
spectacular view of the Las Vegas skyline!
Overall, our experience was influenced by two main factors:
(1) We stayed during the week. By doing so, we received a much lower rate and
our pick of rooms. Even though we arrived on a holiday (Monday, July 4th), the
resort was not crowded. It wasn’t dead either -- just the right level of people
and activity for us. We would not have enjoyed this stay as much if it was
overrun with people and more expensive, as can occur on the weekends.
(2) The ambience of the PalmsPlace matched what we were looking for:
contemporary, hip and sexy. The whole place exudes this feel, from the
architecture, art and room design, to the music, the pool area and Simon’s
Restaurant, to the casino and fabulous nightclubs. If that is the vibe you are
looking for, you’ll love it here. On the other hand, if you are looking for
staid classical elegance, this is not the right fit. And while we saw some
families here, this place is not designed for kids.

Me and 5 friends decided to book a room at the Palms Place for Memorial Day
Weekend. We got a 2 bedroom suite for around $500/night. The room was huge and
amazing. 2 very large and comfortable queen beds, 2 large couches that were
supposedly pull-out queens, but we never got around to it. What can I say....it
was Vegas, and everyone simply passed out where there was space available.
We got an excellent high floor room with stunning views of the strip. The white
marble bathrooms were excellent; with good water pressure and temperature, and
good Aveda toiletries. The refrigerator with freezer, ice-maker, and glasses was
great for keeping all our beer and liquor cold, and basically providing us with
a wet bar. We made drinks in the room before going out each night, and it saved
us a lot of $$. I recommend stopping at a liquor store on the way to your hotel,
and putting whatever you buy in your luggage (not sure of hotel policy on
bringing in booze).
The televisions all had HD ESPN, which was about all we really needed to kill
time in the afternoon. Only weird thing was the placement of the tub in the
middle of the room next to a window. Might be nice if this was a condo you owned
as they intended, but awkward and unnecessary for a guys trip.
The service at the hotel was a little lacking, and they tended to nickel and
dime you. I was charged for a toothbrush(!!!!), and they tried to charge me for
a disposable razor and a tiny can of crappy shaving cream. Didn't really
appreciate that.
The location off the strip really wasn't too bad.....it's already hot in Vegas,
and we weren't planning on doing any walking, regardless of where we stayed.
Cabs are cheap and plentiful. Worst part about the hotel is the elevators. They
take incredibly long to call, and even longer to get to the bottom floor. It
became almost comical, as they stopped basically every floor.
We went to the pool all day one day, and had an awesome time. The crowd was
pretty entertaining, lots of Ed Hardy types making fools of themselves. All my
friends eventually found plenty of flirty, cute girls to talk to. Drinks were
about $11, which was expensive, but not outrageous by Vegas standards. D.J.
playing the pool party was pretty good as well. Getting chairs is near
impossible, but we found a group that allowed us to stash our stuff under their
lounge chairs.
Overall, we had a good experience at the Palms Place. Excellent room and a
really good value; service could use improvement but it wasn't a dealbreaker.

awesome hotel. awesome staff. Booked a corner suite with a room attached, it was
3,000 sq feet!! 3 balconies, 2 mountain view, 1 city view. The pool at palms
place is relaxing, for more action we went to palms pool, short walk on moving
sidewalk. The staff helped us load a luggage cart full if beer, and gave me 20
room keys and a low internet rate I was quoted awhile back. Bathrooms and
showers are simply awesome. We saw 5 celebrities including Jessica Simpson in
the elevator, and Robin Leach outside waiting for a limo, Guy Fiore at the pool
and also some Rock of Love girls hanging out. Best hotel I have ever been to. We
were there for five days and didn't go to the strip once, no need. Brunch was
very expensive and not worth it, only real negative. |
