I booked Planet Hollywood b/c I found a great deal. After reading some of the
reviews I became nervous. I have to say I thought it was a great hotel. Check in
was smooth, long line but they had several people working so it went fast.
Everyone was really friendly. The rooms weren't anything spectacular but served
their purpose, somewhere to sleep and get ready. I know a lot of people complain
about the lighting but I didn't have a problem with it, seemed fine to me. I was
disappointed by the pool, I read that it wasn't great and thought that would be
ok since I just wanted to lay out for a couple hours in the morning, well, the
sun doesn't come over the pool till about 10:45, get there early though if you
want a chair by the pool, I got there at 9 and had no problem, chairs around the
pool were all taken by 9:45ish though. The casino is small but myself (29) and
mom (56) both really enjoyed it. Music was loud but it was great, a mix of new
popular music and some older classics. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to
anyone.

We are from the Uk and was looking forward to staying at Planet Hollywood.
Hotel is a real party hotel and wasn't greatly suitable for us.
It was my 40th birthday so we decided to go to Vegas.
On arrival the check in line was huge took 40-50 minutes to check in.
Room was pre paid for so keys were given and off we went.
The room was large but housekeeping could of been better.
We were woken most nights with party goers returning 5-6am from the clubs.
Hookers hang around the lifts and casinos!!
Casino is VERY smoky (we are non smokers)
Pool's are totally naff no idea how or why they keep the pool at ice cold
temperature?
There are NOT enough sun beds around the pools and most days this caused
problems. Only 2 sun brollies unless you wanted to pay for a Sun tent with
cushioned sun beds. I don't see why I should pay for a sun bed or for shade!!
Drinks are expensive at £14 each.
If you are a party animal this hotel will suit you well but if like us you are
looking for a bit of peace and quiet go else where.

Arrived at the hotel after a non stop flight from Manchester, England.
The free multi storey parking is accessed to the rear of the hotel off Audrie
Street. We then made our way through the shopping mall to the check in desk. The
mall looked good, with not just the high end retailers you get in some of the
other hotel mall's. You had a choice of where to eat and drink and it's in a
circle so easy to navigate.
We arrived at the check in and joined the line. Staff were slow for some reason
but they did start to put more people on. We got to the desk and my wife was now
feeling the effects of the flight, collecting the rental car and the wait to
check in. She now just wanted to get to the room and relax.
The guy on the desk was very polite and professional. He checked us in and said
as we were only staying the one night he would give us a complementary upgrade
to a suite.
This of course cheered her up no end and she joked afterwards she should look
knackered at check in more often.
The suite had movie stuff in lighted display cabinets, including John Travolta's
suit from 'Get Shorty' and the outfit worn by the killer 'Buffalo Bill' from
'Silence Of The Lambs', which was in a cabinet in the bedroom.
A shower and change later we went for something to eat and a look around the
shops without even going outside.
Las Vegas is very much down to your personal choice and budget. You can't go far
wrong on the strip hotels and this one offered fair value for money for what you
get overall - even without an upgrade.

First walk into hotel room and can see dust floating through the room. Go to
sleep that night and the next morning find that I had been bitten (by a bug of
some sort) behind my knee. Complain to front desk and all they do is offer to
clean my room. I demanded it be vacuumed and linens changed. Next day I ask to
speak to hotel management to complain and they make me wait for 40mins and when
I finally speak to them they tell me they can't do nothing except send an EMT to
my room. It takes 3mins max. Next day I ask to speak to management again coz I
had to go to hospital to get bite incised and drain. Management don't even
bother to come out instead telling desk clerk that it has nothing to do with
management. On the day I check out I ask to speak to management again and
they're conveniently at a meeting. For the rest of my time in Vegas I was
limping coz it actually hurt not to mention the $600 bill from the hospital with
2 more bills to come! Bad service. Non-existence management. After following up
they say that I need to prove that it came from hotel and not anywhere else,
which is next to impossible to prove since it happened while I was sleeping and
the room had been cleaned since it happened. They're basically saying they won't
be paying for their error. Nothing good to say about this hotel. Will be staying
at another when I come back and I advise everyone else to do the same. |
