Riviera Hotel and Casino Reviews

The first room was ridiculous. The door to the refrigerator was broke, there was
no remote to TV, the phone did not work. They quickly got us into another part
of the hotel with a much nicer room. The check in line was insane. I took us
over tow hours to check in. There was only 4 check-in clerks, on a Friday after
4:00 pm. This will make people not want to stay.

The first time my husband and I went to the Riviera was last year. We usually
stay at the hotels at the southern tip of the strip because the hotels at the
end are reasonable. The fancy hotels at the center of the strip charge a $100
resort fee (per day) that is due upon arrival. Who want to spend $400 right off
the bat? On the other hand, the Riviera charges a resort fee of less then $10
(per day) that is due once you check out.
The rooms are not five star rooms but what do we care. We're only going to sleep
there.
The Riviera is one of the older hotels on the strip. So, if you want a hotel
with reasonable rates and a laid back atmosphere then stay at the Riviera. The
staff was great and the rooms were very clean. With that being said, my husband
and I will be going back to the Riviera this year for an second time.
Oh yeah, here's another tip. If you can get an earlier flight you might get
lucky and check in early. Our flight landed at 8am and we were able to check in
and be in our room by 11am, and we were the only ones in line.

Hotel was old but adequate. Got to the Riv early and was told (by a rude staff
member) @ the vacation booth, that no rooms were available and no one could hold
our luggage. stood around in front of the abc store for five minutes, went to
check out counter and was told bell hop could hold bags. Lovely clerk @ check in
counter helped us out and was able to upgrade (20 a night) my reservations to
the Mediterranean tower near our friends. Room 767 seemed nice and clean until
you looked closely. Giant crack on main door, stained wet carpet next to bed,
drug residue on broken window ledge. These things didn't really bother me to
tell you the truth. What ticked me off was the HUGE semen stain I found the
second night underneath the couch seat... So I paid 40 extra dollars to sleep I
3 ft away from bodily fluids.. Casino was ok, vintage and cocktail service was
fast. I won 200 dollars, Kadys was delicious and reasonably priced. Queen vic
pub was fantastic as well as their dart room. Barkeep was awesome. Abc store was
cheap and had all your basic necessities ( save your receipts and get free
stuff). Riviera rewards desk staff was also great. Buffet was pretty good( free
with rewards sign up) the food court was very limited. Location stinks but we
had a car so it didn't matter. Riviera facebook mod was also super nice. Id stay
here again as long as the rooms were better cleaned. Also, lines @ check in were
big at times but moved quickly. Next door to Peppermill and Circus Circus so
that was a plus.

I was going to write a review saying how good the Riviera was, good rooms,
pleasant staff, excellent food outlets, friendly poker room, brilliant selection
of slots, beautiful passion pit girls, convenience of Macdonalds and the
Peppermill...etc etc
Instead I would like to address a few of the reviewers on here who complain
about such things as ' the hotel is dated' or ' it's too far away from the main
action of the strip'......are you people too lazy or too dumb to check these
things out before you book?
Yes the Casino is dated but if you want to stay in a new hotel that has none of
the charm or character of old Las Vegas then stop being so cheap and check into
one!
Its too far away from everything....what do you want them to do...move?? If it's
too hot to walk the strip then why not walk for 5 minutes and have a wander
through the Encore and the Wynn......surroundings more suited to your delusions
of grandeur im guessing.
I travel from the Isle of Man in the UK and have been to Vegas a few times but
even when we made our 1st trip and stayed at Circus Circus we did basic research
as to its location.
The old Casino's of the Vegas strip need to be cherished because it will become
a cold soulless place without them and I for one look forward to staying at the
Riviera again soon.

Worst Hotel I ever stayed. Very rude reception, very hostile environment, dirty
swimming pool, rooms are way outdated and dirty, I booked a non-smoking room but
still found cigarette buds and ashes all over the room. Would never recommend
this to any one, better spend another 50 bucks and stay at another good hotel or
off the strip. |
