Had a great time. This is our second time to stay here. This a great Hotel for a
family. Of course you can not beat the price. We paid $297.00 for three weekend
nights and it was 4th of July weekend. It was very easy to get to the strip. The
pool was great. They have a great kids waiting pool that is a big hit for all
kids and kids at heart. The room was very clean and very good maid service. We
ate at several restaurants. We loved the prime rib place very good and very
reasonable. We also liked the Steak and Shake.

We've been to Vegas many times and have stayed many places. This is a large
operation and covers a large area but there are shortcuts! Check in was a breeze
and we requested a room close to the elevator. Got that plus they put us on the
2nd floor overlooking the pool. The room was clean and cool. It was a king bed
and very comfy. The bathroom had a separate room for the tub and pot. The sink
area was raised and it was large! It held all our toiletries and still had room.
The room had it's own stat to control the temp. It also had a room safe tucked
away in the closet. Hangers were provided. For $42 it was a steal. South Point
is maybe the last large hotel on the strip but this far out it's called LV Blvd.
The freeway is very close. They run a 'fee service' shuttle to the strip and
also a free shuttle to the airport. There are many eating options plus the
bingo, bowling and movies. Our cousins stayed at the Planet Hollywood and
commented at how nice our hotel room was compared to theirs. Even the gambling
area was better. The pool was large and offered some shade and plenty of towels.
The gym asked $15 fee & don't know if that was for the duration or one day.
There's a salon and barber shop plus other shops. Really the very only drawback
is the location. The city bus runs right at the door and of course the dreaded
taxis are available. My opinion is we'd stay here again without thinking much
about it. Downtown has become a zoo and the strip is so crowded. I like South
Point!

Nice for the price. The shower did not work properly. The casino was very well
ventilated; important when you are a non-smoker. The pool area was spacious and
the cocktail wait staff was attentive but the pool itself was VERY dirty. There
was a layer of scum floating on the surface of the pool!

I have just returned from a 3-night stay at the South Point. I booked my
reservations based upon the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor. Wow, how accurate
these reviews are! The hotel is easy to get to from the airport. Early check-in
was a breeze after being in line for only 5 minutes. My room had a pool view and
was clean and spacious. For the most part, the halls were quiet at night, even
though the Electric Daisy Carnival was that weekend.
My delight began with Jeri, the waitress at Big Sur Oyster Bar. When I remarked
the heavenly shrimp scampi would be awesome paired with an Australian Sauvignon
Blanc, she instantly brought me a Kim Crawford SB--perfect pairing! It was also
great fun to pig out at Baja Miguel's after church on Sunday. All the food there
is fresh, tasty and had wonderful presentation.
The horse show that weekend was awesome and the arena, bowling and bingo
facilities were quite impressive. I can see why locals want to host their events
there.
I was also blessed to experience the spa there---wonderful staff and it was
treat to chat with locals who also frequent that spa!
Smoky casino? Not in the day, but it does get smoky at night. Then again, is
there ANY casino in Vegas that isn't smoky at night?
I was very impressed with South Point and look forward to my next visit!

South Point is clean, not too much smoke smell in the casino area, the room is
spacious. The pools are kid friendly, lots of chairs, relaxed ambiance. Garden
buffet is inexpensive and food is delicious. Make sure you get to be a club
member for a $2 discount off your buffet. Coronado Cafe gives big servings,
their orange chicken is heavenly and their breakfast specials are really cheap .
Room rates very affordable. Will come back here again when in Vegas!
Room Tip: Pool view is nice! |
