Loved my recent stay at the Vdara. If you want a hotel that is away from all of
the chaos of Las Vegas' other casino/hotels than this is the place to stay. Our
room (52nd floor) was spacious and had an amazing view. Very comfortable bed. I
found the service to be excellent. I liked that there was a representative of
the hotel checking to see that everyone who used the elevator was actually a
guest in the hotel. It made me feel safer. The room was lovely, despite the fact
that the kitchen wasn't equipped with utensils. (who goes to Vegas to cook their
own meals anyway?)
Most of all I loved that the hotel was non smoking and had no casino. If you
want to get to the casinos it's just a very short walk away.

I love Las Vegas, but I am not a real gambler and I do hate smoke. We picked
Vdara and I'm glad we did. The hotel is new, the rooms are not larger as the
other hotels, however they have very comfortable ,since it's a all suites hotel.
Nice decoration, quiet, perfect!!!

This hotel is one of the newest hotels as for 2010/2011. It doesn't have casino
down there. So it is really quite, and the smell is good there. Even if you want
to go to casino, you can go to the next door Aria or all other casinos just
1~few blocks.
It's clean, quite, and new in design. Really good when my gf stayed with me
there. She is totally satisfied about the hotel.
I got it by price line for 80USD with tax included. It worth it! Even with this
low price, the staff asked if I want high floor or low floor.
There are two minor drawbacks for me. One is no free parking, but you can park
in next door Aria. The other is no breakfast, but most of the hotel in Vegas
won't offer free continental breakfast.

what an uncomfortable 6 days in the room!! the lock on the bathroom door falls
off (silicone together), the beauty mirror lights are burned out, the ceiling
above the bed is cracked, bathroom scale does not work, casings and moldings are
very poor finish and are coming apart, a repair man knocks on the door and wakes
us at 10 am to inspect the room because there is water dripping into the spa
right below us. Not to mention the blaring music at 9am every single morning
from the pool!!! Not 1 apology, and of coarse, not 1 break on the bill!! we did
not look forward to returning to the room after every evening.....will
never....ever go back!!!

A great deal for the Vdara was found on Expedia. Flew 4 hours, arrived at the
hotel with no issues, small wait in the lobby and throughout my stay I noted
there always seemed to be a line for check-in and check-out. To my surprise, we
were upgraded from a deluxe room to a Panoramic corner suite which was crazy
beautiful! Made it worth the wait to get to our room on the 21st floor. Great
views from up there, city life and mountain life on the other side. We walked in
and walked down a nice long corridor to the kitchen that boasted a large dining
table, huge fridge, dishwasher, stove top. Wine glasses however were the only
"dishes". We called housekeeping and waited a few hours for cutlery and plates
as well as sheets for the pull out couch in the living room. Had there been pots
brought up I would have cooked one or two nights but I guess that is the point,
they are trying to eliminate mess? The living room was amazing with a large TV
on the wall, view of the strip. Clean. The bedroom had a door you could close
for privacy and there was also a door to the large bathroom that had the BEST
tub ever with canyon/city views. I had a bath here every night and the shower
was comfortable, always had lots of hot water. There were 2 sinks, convenient in
the washroom and separate toilet area. Room service we ordered on the first
night after waiting so long for our dishes - this was just average and the last
time we ordered. The in-room laundry facilities looked great but we never used
these, bring your own soap if you want to wash anything. Maid service was a bit
spotty, sometimes our garbage were emptied over the 5 days, sometimes not.
Toilet paper not replenished and we asked for NO decaf coffee and that was all
we got? Oh well. We loved the space, the quiet and the bed! I slept so well into
late morning and apparently the pull out couch was great too! (I got the king
bed!!) Large TV in bedroom and great wireless which I did need and felt the
resort fee was reasonable for $20 a day. The desk for working was comfortable
and loved all the lighting including the shades, blackout and normal. I read
that people complained of the walk to get to the strip. It was just fine, lots
to see through the Bellagio as well as Aria. All we do in Vegas is walk, walk,
walk, just bring comfortable shoes!!!! Our last morning we had breakfast at the
market cafe on the lobby level - YUMMY! Overall, we loved how modern and clean
this hotel was and for the value, we would stay here again in a flash!

Ok, this is a nice hotel that is supposedly 5 stars but it feels pretty trashy
in the lobby and the check out process is terrible. Their were more than 200
people waiting in the lobby for their cars (the don't offer self-park). It was
pure chaos. Without a doubt, once inside the room, it's beautiful and the fact
that there is not a casino there does make a positive difference. I got the
hotel, by the way, on priceline for $80 per night plus resort fee. They are
obviously hurting from the economy. |
