Slow Poor service at front desk, but plenty of attitude from the front desk
staff. I asked for a King bed, non smoking and got a twin bed smoking room until
I had to complain to them. Then the up charges started, $30.00 up charge to
check in before 3pm, $35.00 up charge per night for their remodelled rooms,
The standard rooms are tired and worn out. Hence why they are renovating and
long overdue. The bathrooms are small and need everything thrown out from wear
and tear. Half of the escalators are broken and out of service. Even checking
out was an issue as they don't offer check out from the room. May be the end of
staying there unless they figure this out. Be aware of up charges for their
"remodelled" rooms. Looks like they are going to a three room rate schedule. The
old rooms are getting bad, really tired looking, bathrooms need a total tear
out, furniture is worn out, hallway carpets are trashy looking. We arrived at
11am and had to wait til after 3pm to get a room. Or pay another Up charge of
$30.00 for what they call a early check in. High speed internet charges $12.00
per day too

The Flamingo may not have the most flashy rooms but it's convenient stay right
in the middle of the strip. There are no resort fees however, the queues for
checking in and the box office may take up to 30 minutes so be prepared with the
booking confirmation number! No water is provided in the room as the hotel tries
to make the most from you. The hotel's buffet was very good for breakfast and
dinner! Stay Cheap right in the middle where it all happens!!

While the strip location is good the hotel is old. We were given an updated
room, though told that the bathroom had not been redone. Not only had the
bathroom not been redone, but the sink did not drain, the tub drain was pulled
out. The shampoo was only one small tube for two of us and not replaced until we
asked for it on day 2! Our room faced the parking lot and constructions was
happening there. starting very early in the am.. audible in our room on the 9th
floor.
The price was low, but the accommodations were more like a Days Inn, without
breakfast!
The gambling was awful, too.

Yes, the rooms and hallways and elevators are creaky and old. It is a good value
for the money though and has a personality. Even the pink flamingos in the
outdoor area look old and tired along with the elderly gentleman they have at
the valet counter. I stayed five nights and really got to know the property and
staff. Everyone seems to be there just for the pay check, but they have good
senses of humour and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. One night there
were sexy cage dancers near the entrance on the strip. The lady who feeds the
birds and fish tried hard to show off a big red parrot to guests. The total
rewards desk women seemed to enjoy their jobs. The cocktail waitresses were 40
year old women trying to look and dress like 25 year olds. The valets had no
hustle. The females working the valet were all very grumpy. The old guy who
looks for your car keys cannot hear and apparently cannot see to read the ticket
numbers. Twice they pulled up with someone else's car not mine after waiting at
least 10 minutes. Their buffet costs far more than most, fifteen dollars for
breakfast is a little over the top in my opinion. I arrived at 330, waited in
line for 15 minutes and was told that my room still was not clean and would have
to wait in an even longer line called "Keys and Mail" when I returned in 30
minutes. Still, there was a charm to it that made it okay to stay there.

We paid for an upgrade--and didn't see the value of the upgrade. We had booked
two nights, but after 3 calls down to the front desk to complain about the noise
from other guest rooms, we had had it!!!
At 3 AM we opted to get a refund for the second night, so we could get some
sleep. They apologized, gave us our refund and told us security should have
taken care of this "problem".
We are used to nice rooms, and expected this to be extra nice for the price.
Granted, there were some impressive amenities--two flat screen TVs--one IN the
bathroom mirror, a 4 duel-headed shower was great, nice electronic drapes. It
was newly decorated. it was clean. No smells.
Now the YUCK--the view was the pits. Our room looked out on roof tops and the
backs of buildings. They charge an unbelievable $14.99 for Internet usage.
Security couldn't get the rooms on both sides of us to turn down the music, and
stop the loud laughter and door slamming. There was a group of 20 and 30
something's in nearby rooms. I'm afraid I lost my temper at 3 AM.... We got a
refund for the next night, but no sleep that night.
The Donny and Marie show downstairs was great!
