We were booked here this past weekend for a conference, and had I not been
forced to stay here, I would NOT. It's old and run down, smells of smoke and the
check-in line took forever. They know a bunch of people are checking in for a
convention but only had 2 people on the desk. I've noticed this with other
casino hotels as well - check in takes a really long time!! When we did get to
the desk, Stephy was efficient.
The room was decent and relatively clean, but watch out for the "exploding"
water when you flush the toilet! It soaked the floor and toilet seat - yuck. We
upgraded to a "deluxe" room in the Mardi Gras tower that had a view of the
ventilation system, and when we opened the window, smelled of fried chicken or
some other greasy cooked meat.
The meeting rooms were OK - typical of mid-tier convention hotels. And
temperature was fine, which is uncommon (most seem to run on the cold side). At
check-out, I inquired about printing boarding passes. They do have a kiosk but
it costs money to print. When I asked by they didn't offer free boarding passes
like most hotels, the clerk responded with a curt, "This is a business, ma'am!"
and looked at me like I was trying to rip them off by wanting to print. This
last impression sums up the Harrah's approach to customer service: they're
running business that doesn't care about customers.

Just spent four nights a Harrahs, I was a little concerned reading some of the
other reviews, but seriously not a thing to worry about. We up graded to the
Deluxe room which was still only $65 a night, we were told if we preferred quite
to take the Mardi Gras Tower, which we did and It was quiet. The rooms were very
nice, remodelled with very nice bathrooms, the beds were awesome, I take my
pillow every where with me when I travel, I don't event think I used it. The
location is great, right in the middle of the strip. The staff were all very
friendly and helpful. Honestly I am trying to think of something negative to
say.....the internet kiosks in the lobby were slow, the casino is not as well
ventilated as some of the newer ones, but its older. I don't smoke and smoke
usually really bothers me, but it was fine, yes some of the newer hotels/casinos
are better ventilated, this is a nice middle of the road hotel for a decent
price. You get what you pay for, in this case I feel we got more than what we
paid for. As for some tips, we had a wonderful dinner at Batista's Hole in the
Wall and saw a great show, Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget in old LV $35 for a
very nice buffet and the show, haven't laughed that hard in years. Enjoy!!

We stayed four nights, three nights were comped so we actually only paid for one
night. Once we got past the somewhat crabby check in lady we were checked in
relatively quick. Even though the hotel is not fancy and as up scale as some
others the price was excellent for what we got. We found the hotel to be clean
and well kept. The rooms were clean and good sized. The prices are very good,
especially for the great strip location. The casino was always crowded and they
had a good variety of slots. The location is walking distance to many other
strip attractions and restaurants.
If you are looking for clean rooms, reasonable prices and a great central strip
location this would be an excellent choice

We visited Las Vegas in December 2011 and booked the rooms in this hotel through
net. The hotel is located right on the strip and has all the facilities for a
comfortable stay. The casino is also good. Its a real value for money. The
breakfast is served at the Star bucks cafe which is fine but it would be better
if arrangements are made for serving hot breakfast.

Booked a 'Deluxe' room, ended up in the Mardi Gras tower on 10th floor. Room was
a lot nicer than I expected, large, comfortable, and well appointed. Large flat
screen TV in the armoire, and a smaller one in the bathroom. Very comfortable
bed. There was a small safe in the wall behind the door and a coffee maker in
the bathroom. Only down side was the noise from the Carnival Court. It was
*very* loud and went as late as 3am on some nights.
Harrah's has an excellent location on the strip, and the parking garage was
convenient and quick to get to from my room. (hint: coming up the ramps in the
garage, it's easy to go from the 3rd level to the 5th without even realizing you
missed the 4th level, so there was almost always lots of parking close to the
elevators on the 4th level)
Didn't eat or gamble at the hotel (spent most of my time at Venetian/Palazzo, a
short walk away) so can't say much there, other than to mention the casino
wasn't over-crowded and not smokey at all.

My wife and I stayed at Harrahs in December 2011 during the Christmas holidays.
We've stayed here many times before and the quality has always been pretty
consistent.
Our stay was great. We checked in late, around 11:30 PM, and there were no
"standard" rooms available, which is what I booked with a special through . So,
they upgraded us to a suite with a Jacuzzi. It was a nice room and the bathroom
was very large and clean, though it looked like a bathroom from the late 80's.
The bathroom was all tile, from floor to ceiling, and nice in design, and would
be considered a high-end bathroom of the late 80's.
The room was clean and the bed was nice and plush. The furniture looked okay -
nereo evident signs of wear. Our room had a side view of the strip, which was
nice. We slept well and didn't hear any noises of folks walking outside or our
neighbors.
As for as the location is concerned, you really can't find a better value for
the location. It's central strip and its located next to some very nice hotels
(Venetian, Bellagio, etc.). Also, when you walk outside Harrahs, you are next to
the small food court that's located on the strip with the McDonalds, Chipotle,
and Panda Express (and maybe one or two more places...). This is especially good
if you're traveling with a family and want to eat quick and cheap.
Also, in terms of location, I will say that the Harrahs is very close to the
booth where you can purchase show tickets at 50% off. This booth (forgetting the
name) opens around 10 AM, so its a quick walk from your hotel and you can
purchase tickets the shows the same day for significantly less than the box
office.
We used the valet service at Harrahs, which was very quick and courteous. They
had heat-lamps outside, which made it okay to stand outisde in the cold while
you waited for your vehicle.
In the hotel, they have a Starbucks, which definitely comes in handy when you're
up late or you wake up early.
I would avoid Harrah's buffet - it's not a very good buffet. However, if you
have to go, I think that same booth that sells tickets at 50% off sells coupons
for discounted Harrah's buffet.

I stayed in a deluxe room with a King bed and I was very, very happy. Great room
with great amenities and I had a wonderful view. I would definitely stay there
again. Perfect location and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Room Tip: DEFINITELY upgrade to at least the Deluxe room. You'll be glad you
did.

If you are looking for a hotel room to drop your stuff in and enjoy the Vegas
strip, the price is right to make this home base. The place is average enough
and the casino pretty mediocre for strip standards. If you want Vegas Luxury, go
across the street to Caesars.
Don't eat the buffet! I got horrible food poisoning that ruined 24 hours of my
trip from that place. Good gracious I was sicker than a Kebler elf that found
out he was allergic to chocolate.

This was my 1st time to Vegas. The hotel room was spacious and our room
overlooked the Mirage which had an hourly show from 6pm to 11pm of the
"volcano", since it was unseasonably cold outside the bird's-eye view of the
volcano show was enjoyable. The hotel is located on the strip & was within
walking distance to other hotels & local shopping. The room was clean & was well
stocked with towels & toiletries on a daily basis.

We stayed at Harrah's for the first time in early December. We had a comped room
and ended up with a renovated room in the Mardi Gras Tower on the 6th floor
overlooking the pool. .

We stayed at Harrah's this past Thanksgiving weekend from Wednesday to Sunday.
The entire hotel was not very clean and smelled of smoke even in our rooms,
which was on the 10th floor and was suppose to be nonsmoking. I know most
casinos in Vegas

The hotel is unremarkable by Vegas standards. The room in the Carnival Tower was
dated and ordinary. Clean, just not new or attractive. If you care just about
location -- you are on the center of the Strip...Ideal. If you are coming to
Vegas
