Our first 2 nights in Vegas were booked at the Mirage. We started with a pretty
long and chaotic wait in the lobby to check in. Our elevator was difficult to
find-- as my fiancé pointed out, is probably intentional-- more impulsive
gambling!
The room was nice but not remarkable. The food selections on the main floor were
poor-- either high end sushi or a cafeteria style buffet that felt like a 70's
bowling alley and had food of that quality as well. The Jewish deli was
alright-- ridiculously huge portions and good quality -- although they will
charge for sharing. The Rhumbar around the corner is a great place for a cheap
drink!
The Mirage is loud and obnoxious, much like most of the guests, who were mostly
it seemed on stags and stagettes. The main floor is nothing but booming
nightclubs. The slots were uninteresting.
Over all, the Mirage is okay-- good location, and, as noted, a good place if
you're young and want to party all night long. The service was up to the usual
high standard of the higher end Strip hotels.

We just came back from Vegas where we attended a 60th birthday party, we did not
pick the hotel but found it still in good shape.
About a $25 cab ride including tip. Fast check in at 8pm and were offered an
upgrade to floor 24 or 25 for $20 per night more than our confirmed rate. It is
worth it since there are 2 elevators assigned to just those 2 floors, after
staying at other large resorts were the huge bank of elevators handles 10 or
more floors and you end up having many stops and long waits for the elevator it
was worth it for just that reason. 1st night to BB Kings for dinner, they had a
very good live band but it struck us funny that there is a $5 per person cover
even if you are having dinner. Food was decent with big city prices.
Went to Carnegie deli for breakfast, huge portions, pretty good food.
Casino was not very kind to most of us, you could not find a $5 roulette wheel
on the weekends even in the morning. Drinks in the bars can be pretty expensive.
Had a lunch at BLT burgers which was a little disappointing, had a show kitchen
with all kinds of grill smoke but the burger had no flavour. Like most Vegas
resorts they have a "resort fee", theirs is $20 per day and doesn't seem to be
worth it in my opinion. Pool was closed, we were not warned in advance, but
didn't have time or the weather for it either. Felt the $19.95 fee to visit the
hotels dolphin/secret garden are was pretty steep especially after we paid the
$20 per day "resort fee".
I would go back again, it has a great location on the strip but still want to
try some other hotels.
Still like the Venetian the best, Bellagio not worth the hype. Treasure Island
is ok. Have enjoyed MGM a couple of stays

Had a nice time. Asked for early check in but didn't get a room til 4. Room was
very clean. Had a great view of strip & volcano. Had to ask for the view. Casino
was nice not too smoky. Restaurant food great. Had a fab breakfast in BB king,s
. Be careful they charge 4.00 for oj and coffee. Food was very reasonable. The
poker rm was dead during week but picked up on the weekend. Our main complaint.
The internet did not work ALL weekend. We would probably move on to another
hotel next time. We played poker at the grt poker room at the Venetian.

It was ok...
The location is fabulous! Mid strip and close to everything. Across the street
from Denny's where you can have breakfast while your sister stands in the cheap
tickets line up! I liked this hotel because it is smaller and easier to find
your way around than some. The pool was gorgeous and the service out there was
decent, yummy pina coladas.
My only complaints are:
1. Our room was VERY dusty, like nobody had stayed in it for weeks. There was
also a big clump of hair behind the door. To be fair, we didn't phone down to
complain about this, just waited for it to be cleaned the next day.
2. The resort fee. We knew about it ahead of time, but it still sucks.

I had never been to Vegas and planned a surprise trip for my fiancé's 30th
birthday. My friends recommended the Mirage based on its location on the strip.
(Right across from the Venetian and within a few minutes walk of Cesar's, etc).
I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of check in (we arrived around 6pm) and
the cleanliness of the rooms. The restaurants in the hotel were great and the
Beatles love show is right downstairs! The dealers at the Casino were friendly
and overall this was a great place to stay for the price.

we were just at mirage on 1/28/12 to 1/30/12. we researched all hotels on the
strip and found that mirage had a fantastic pool that was heated which would
have been great for our kids.
we checked in went to our rooms and got dressed to go to the pool. what a huge
disappointment the pool was closed and being worked on.
we specifically picked the mirage because of the pool. the website said they
close during the month of December, so i never thought to check directly with
the hotel.
the rooms are nice, but basically that is all we had.
my advice to you is that you keep your website up to date. and i will make sure
i never go by what the website says i will always call. unfortunately
i know for a fact that we were not the only family disappointed! |
