We stayed at the Monte Carlo for 5 nights from 5th Feb ....we had a strip view
on the 16 floor, which meant it was quiet -and not bothered by the noise from
the pool. the room was spotlessly clean and comfortably warm....they had a point
deducted for a couple of things, the walls are vert thin (do the owners of the
hotels read these reviews???? - get some soundproofing folks!!!!!!) and there
was no grab rail in the shower or no any slip mat on the tub
floor.......................ASlso the food court was low end, but hey there are
plenty of places to eat in the town , the Pub was great - good beer choice and
the sliders ( Hubby wanted to try them as he didnt know what a slider was!!) we
really good... the free tram from the hotel to the Bellagio (via Crystals) was
brilliant and saved our poor legs !!!!

By far, the Monte Carlo is one of the worst 3-4 start hotels in Vegas. After
staying at the Aria for four nights, we decided to stay one additional night
before heading home but chose the Monte Carlo (right next to the Aria) since we
had a reduced rate offer from MLife. We were first booked into a deluxe room on
the 31st floor, with a parking lot view and found out that Playboy or some
company like them, were filming a commercial /video directly across the hall in
another deluxe room. We immediately asked to be moved and even paid more to
upgrade to a suite. The suite was larger, however, the carpets, furniture and
bedspread were all stained and disgusting. The room decor, bathroom counters,
faucets and tub were ancient and dingy looking. We could hear the neighbours
(kids and adults) running and talking for hours late into the night. Since we
were only there one night and since we were out of the room most of the night we
decided to live through it. The next morning we complained to the front desk
only to find out they did not seem to care much and made it sound like this was
a normal experience.
Never again will we stay here. If you want a great 5 star place to stay.. stay
at the Aria.. 5 stars all the way.

I've stayed at this property several times while in town working a trade show.
Room was fairly clean - seemed like it took forever for shower water to get hot
and sink didn't drain quickly. But...My bed & pillows did sleep great!
They do not have wireless. Internet uses a cable which I wasn't able to get to
work. Upon checkout I told them the internet didn't work and they credited a
portion of the resort fee. So, if you have any issues - speak up asap so they
can either fix or credit your bill.
Really wish they could filter out some of the smoke in the lobby/casino area.
Ate at The Pub and D'Vino onsite. The Pub has many beers to choose from. The
food is just so-so. D'Vino was a nice italian meal.
The food court includes Subway, McD's, Starbucks, and a couple other choices.
I wanted to see Jabbawoceez show on Tuesday night but they were dark. :(
Overall, pretty decent stay at a great rate.

I have been to Las Vegas a few times.
I wouldn't say that I know everything about Vegas, but one thing I do know is
that you want to be in a good location on the strip.
The Monte Carlo is a great location. Everything is pretty accessible from here.
The hotel itself is nice enough. I wouldn't say it is terribly posh, but for
it's age, it is pretty good.
We spent some time in the pool at this hotel and we found the pool area to be a
good time. It was very busy and the weather was hot, so a cold beer by the pool
was a good way to spend a couple hours in the afternoon.
We ate and drank a bit at the PUB in this hotel, and it was average. We also ate
at The Brand in this hotel and it was excellent. Not cheap, but great prime rib.
The only real complaint I had about this hotel is that the towels smelled
horrible. Not too sure what the deal was there. I am not sure if it was a stale
smoke smell, or what, but it was memorable, and not in a good way.
I thought that overall the hotel was good. Not excellent, but good. I have also
stayed at the Mandalay Bay, which is an excellent in every way, except for it's
location.
I have also stayed at the Venetian, which is excellent in every way, including
it's location. The only trouble there is that it is usually quite expensive.
All in all, if you can get a good buy on the Monte Carlo, it will probably do
just fine.
Of course the strip view is a pay more option. We had the pool view and it was
just fine. We swapped to a strip view for last 2 days, and it was cool for the 3
minutes we were in our room...

Nice room, very clean and a great location. It has a tram at the back of the
hotel that links Monte Carlo, Aria, Crystals and the Bellagio which is nice
after walking around in heels.

I've been to Vegas around 40 times, and I think I've stayed at MC on at least 12
of those trips. If you're there to party, there are better options (the MC has
no nightclub and it's a bit "quieter" than some resorts). But if you're
traveling with kids, this place is perfect!
Their pool is perfect for a family, it has a wave pool and a lazy river that are
perfect for the kids to play in while the adults enjoy a cool drink while
sunbathing. They always email me deals that I can't pass up ($70 per weeknight
during the summer is a common offer) and having a food court downstairs helps
keep the kids fed on a budget. If you're not on a budget, their Asian and
Italian restaurants are quite good. The rooms are starting to show their age a
bit and they aren't anywhere near as luxurious as many other hotels on the
strip. But you can't beat the combination of location, price, and newness (built
in 1996).
Don't get me wrong, even the party crowd can have a great time here. Just don't
expect to be able to make a ton of noise at four in the morning (I've had
security put a stop to impromptu parties before). |
