Spent four nights at the Suncoast in early February. The in-laws retired to
Summerlin, and we visit them at least once a year. While I've stayed here in the
past, it's been several years. Have to say I really like how laid back this
place is.
Easy to get to from the airport - about a 20 minute drive. The basic room was
huge, clean and quiet. Some of the furniture was a little dinged up, but the bed
was comfortable. Excellent in-room coffee. That's all I really need.
Assets: room was clean, quiet, spacious. Buffet was cheap, especially if you
joined the Emerald Club, and the food was good. Not spectacular, not fancy, but
good. Staff were friendly. Exercise room was well-equipped. Parking was easy.
Near many strip malls with lots of decent shopping options for the locals. Short
drive to Red Rock Canyon, a must-visit spot every time we're there. Many options
for entertainment besides gambling, including a movie theater, bowling alley and
swimming pool (closed in the Winter).
Deficits: shortage of garbage cans in the room. No soap dish - why do so many
places neglect this simple item? No make-up mirror. Big empty space just inside
the room entry that seemed to be lacking a piece of furniture for keys, purses,
etc. - but the space was bare. The television reception was awful, and the
channel selection was slim. Hallway carpets were in desperate need of deep
cleaning or replacing.
Not glamorous, but serviceable. Would stay here again.

The room was a King, and was clean;as well as beautiful. I would say the carpet
a little outdated but overall nice place. I stayed there because it was close to
my parents home, and they both were very ill. The location allowed me to spend
my days with them and be back to my room in the evening. This was my second stay
there and again not disappointed.

The Suncoast is a wonderful hotel and casino. The rooms are great, restaurants
delicious, and the entire staff very accommodating and helpful. As locals who
have numerous options, we really enjoy playing, dining, and enjoying all that
the Suncoast has to offer. The dealers are terrific, friendly, and do their best
to be "cheerleaders"--wanting us to win! Where do you find this kind of
friendliness at a casino?? However, I have to agree with many of the posts here.
The Suncoast SHOULD, as a priority, do something about the smoke. Many of us
call it an ashtray in jest. The circulation system or filtration system is
minimal at best as the smoke hits you like a ton of bricks the minute you walk
into the casino. Our clothing reeks from smoke when we leave. It would be great
to have the option of non-smoking blackjack tables. Many other casinos DO offer
this option. As a matter of fact, more and more casinos are now offering
non-smoking options around some slot areas. I realize the casino is the last
vestige for smokers, but give us non-smokers a break. I hope the Suncoast
finally does something about their "detrimental to our health" smoke filled
environment and create more options for non-smokers. It would certainly be
appreciated. The Suncoast is such a fun and friendly place--this could only
help, not detract, from business.

We spent two nights at the Suncoast on a recent loop trip from SoCal. The room
was very spacious and well furnished. We did get a bit of a musty smell every
time we walked into the room - not sure what that was all about. If you want
internet, you also have to pay. The best part of the stay was how quiet the
rooms are-we did not hear a single person banging their way down the hall at 4
am coming back from the casino! The hotel offers lots of restaurant options and
nice shopping near by. It is a bit of a drive if you want to hang out on the
strip. However, for a more low key and quiet hotel/gambling experience, would
highly recommend the Suncoast.

We usually stay at the Orleans, but we decided to try a night at the Suncoast
instead. We were pleasantly surprised. Check-in was fast and easy, and we got a
$10 gambling credit. The room was quite large with pleasant decor, and it was
very clean. We had a flatscreen TV, a desk, a table with 4 chairs, and one
comfortable lounging chair with a footrest. Lighting was fairly good, with a
couple bright reading lamps. We had a sweeping view from the strip to the
mountains. We were pleased to have a mini-fridge (without freezer). Temperature
control in the room was efficient and quiet. The large bathroom had two sinks
and lots of counter space. Lighting in the bathroom was very good. The toilet
and shower were in a separate room. The showerhead was good and there was plenty
of hot water, but the thin towels smelled of smoke. We had a lunch and a
breakfast at the buffet, and they were pretty average--not great--and did not
have the selection that the Orleans has. However, the Suncoast is much smaller
than the Orleans, so it does not seem so crowded. The room price is higher at
the Suncoast. We would stay here again if we could get a competitive price,
since the room itself was better than the Orleans rooms. |
