The Tuscany is a nice property about a 10 minute walk from the Flamingo on the
Strip. The casino itself is essentially lifeless - not very much energy at all.
The dealers were pleasant enough but there was no excitement. This casino is NOT
typical of others in Las Vegas. We preferred to go elsewhere to gamble. The
rooms are enormous. Twice the size of any where else I have ever stayed in Vegas
and we have been there at least a dozen times.

Stayed at the Tuscany for three nights attending a trade show. Good points are
huge rooms, pretty quiet and comfy beds. The whole place is starting to feel a
little tired with bathrooms needing an upgrade. In europe all hotels offer free
wifi - hotels in the US should start this. the Tuscany does have free wifi in
the lobby area - so this is something..... Overall the place is good value and
if you want "off strip" at reasonable prices then this plave is for you.

I have visited Tuscany before on a personal trip to check out the casino and to
grab a bite, and I thought it was pretty down to earth and nice. At the time, I
joined the Player's Club, which sent me a promotional hotel rate on Groundhog
Day.
The rooms are basically inside typical apartment style buildings. They ran out
of King rooms when I checked in, so I was given a double.
The grounds are well lit, clean, and there were staff out and about at all times
of the day. The buildings are equally clean and well lit, although the elevators
are slow.
The rooms are quite large, but more on the simple end of the spectrum. For
example, there is a kitchenette area but no glassware or utensils. Just a mini
refrigerator, 2 burner stove, and coffee maker. There is a sitting area with a
desk that was equally simple but functional. The same for the bathroom -- simple
but functional. Lastly, the television was a CRT style unit, probably 20-24" in
size, with Lodgenet. Oddly, I enjoyed watching television more on this standard
television than some hotels that give you a large flat screen but stick you with
non-HD programming.
As I mentioned previously, I was given a room with double beds, which were small
but fine for just me. The bedding is quite nice, although the pillows were
interesting. Perhaps I'm used to the 'typical' hotel pillow which tends to be
filled with lumpy down and is rather dense in weight, but the pillows at Tuscany
were extremely soft and filled with cotton like something you'd buy at Wal-Mart.
Not necessarily a bad thing since they were comfortable, but it struck me as odd
for some reason.

The room was extremely clean. It looked like the carpet was brand new and I
couldn't find dust in the typical places (carpet corners, behind the head of the
bed). The in room climate control worked very well, although it was somewhat
loud when the fan was on.
The only issues I found were a lack of extra towels in the bathroom (I don't use
housekeeping on a daily basis), and the sound of people walking in the hallway
carries into the rooms. Besides this noise, the entire property was extremely
quiet and I didn't encounter any noise problems during my entire stay. Hard to
believe this would happen in a place like Vegas, but I think it has a lot to do
with the property and the type of guests staying there.

Overall, I found that Tuscany's hotel rooms are extremely clean, basic,
functional, and quiet. You can't ask for much more when all you need is a sleep
and a shower. Don't forget that you can usually park right outside your building
so no need to walk through a maze of shops or slots like most hotels in Vegas.
Would I return? Honestly, no, but only because I've gotten pretty good at
getting 2x or 3x as many amenities for around $20-$30 extra per night. If my
intention was to do Vegas on the cheap, I'd definitely pick Tuscany, but for
business I have a fixed lodging budget and want something more like a fully
furnished apartment. That being said, other properties can learn a LOT from
Tuscany about cleanliness and noise. I don't think I've ever stayed in such a
clean hotel room before.
