This is our second time in Las Vegas and as a 50th birthday treat we booked the
Venetian for its luxury suites and location and were not disappointed. The staff
are friendly and helpful and the room was large with a king size bed and
spacious bathroom. I had asked for a high floor with a view of the strip which
cost extra and was disappointed I got the mountain view side, however in
hindsight it was quieter. We ordered room service twice and on my birthday
morning we had breakfast delivered with balloons and a Happy Birthday
cheesecake, the member of staff even sung Happy Birthday which was nice, the
food the second time was not great and cold. The downside is there is no tea or
coffee making facilities which is a pain in the morning when you could do with a
hit of caffeine and please don't touch any of the drinks in the room or sweets
as they are all on sensors unless you are prepared to pay for them. Also I do
not see any benefits to the guests charging an extra daily resort fee.
Overall a great week in Vegas.

I can't wait to get back to the Venetian, I loved it. The decor is fabulous, it
was just so grand and we all had so much fun here. 4 of us traveled to Vegas and
we had 2 suites (all rooms are suites here which is a massive bonus) at check in
they were very helpful and gave us adjoining rooms which was great. The suites
are just lovely but prepare for a walk to the casino floor, it really is not
that far but when you take into consideration the size of the regular hotel and
how long it would take you to walk to the front desk this is quite far. (you
will find the same with almost every hotel in Vegas though so just go with it)

The suites were very comfortable and clean. The beds are amazing, like clouds
and the blackout blinds are great (no little gaps where the light can sneak in)
The bathroom was huge and also very clean.

I went to Phantom (I love the show and they pipe in the music all over the place
so it is almost impossible to resist) I got the tickets from a ticket office on
the strip that sold them at discount for about $35. If anyone has been to this
show and liked it then they will love this. It is shorter that the Broadway
production (all the shows in Vegas tend to be about 90 minutes or so) they have
just basically cut out all the talking which would be a shame if you have not
seen the full version but the theatre was specifically built for this so the the
effects are wonderful.

Got a Cabana in Tao which was good fun but I think next time I would go with the
more expensive but quieter (music was really loud) main hotel Cabanas. Also when
we got to the entrance to Tao the guy tried to tell us that it was more
expensive than we had been quoted on the phone (my friend had booked it before
we got there) once she told him this he brought us to our Cabana with no
arguments. If you book a cabana know what you are getting and what you are
paying for before you get there as they will try to sell you a more expensive
package once you get there. We had a minimum spend of €350 with (i think) 10% of
each round you order going to the hostess. (tipping the cabana boy was separate)
this did work out quite well as there was a few of us and you can spend the day
there. We spent the whole day there and got lunch, a snack and dinner and about
6 jugs of mojitos for about $500. It was a really nice (the food was yum,
especially the coconut shrimp) and fun way to spend the day. Plan on going back
to Vegas next year and I will be staying here. Great spot!!
